Arsenal after the worse start for years now as the same points as us.

We need a goalscorer and a decent winger.

Besides getting rid of the dross out Squad isnt much better than last season.

Another season starting with expectation and hope going up in smoke, FFS.

Incredible. We've the nucleus for a great solid side playing 4-2-3-1 yet we knock out some backward half cocked variation of 4-4-2 again. What on earth was the problem with merely building on the side and style that was so effective in the second half of last year.

I've nothing but sympathy for Wee Jay and Maxi. Being unceremoniously dumped out the team to cater for that muck. What a joke!

But it's not too late. At least we're not getting beat and a few wins will change everything (despite the improbability of them coming in our next two games).

You just don't know where to start. We were poor defensively, pedestrian in midfield and nowhere near incisive enough in attack. Watching Swansea put pass after pass together reminded me of our last goal against Wolves last season - but now we don't seem capable of that anymore and we could easily have lost today. The worrying thing is that we could conceivably be mid-table by the end of the month.

I don't know how things are going to change if we persist in playing as we are. Surely Kenny must be disappointed with that and see that we are not the cohesive, incisive team that we were at the end of last season. Why can't we just get rid of this 4-4-2 which is blatantly not working and have the 4-2-3-1 that was so beautiful and successful last season? That for me is the most frustrating thing about us this season.

How can Maxi be left out now? Downing after 11 games has offered nothing.

Do you really think Adam is a player that's going to take us to the level we want to be? Serious question.

It only my view, Lee. But if anything the level Adam will take us to (as a starter) is behind the one we started from last May.

But I do think he's a good squaddie. Catastrophic that he's starting every game though

Adam is a very gifted player with very obvious weaknesses that could be easily fixed if we had more athleticism next to him in midfield.

i think its more to do with the fact that he's very wasteful and that our midfield looks really pathetic because of him. lesser teams like swansea are coming to anfield and outplaying us at times because adam cant hack it in midfield. when we have the ball he's ok, but its when you dont have the ball thats when we're effectively a player down in central midfield. lucas had to cover him time and time again and its really tough to ask one player to cover the other all the time.

that is the reason henderson is in the side and playing out of position because someone has to do charlie adams running for him. generally we wont have the ball for 45% of the time at home, which means that for half the game when were defending we're a man down.

the full backs cant push right on because if we lose the ball, the opposition will cut through the middle of us without any opposition. his presense in the side is actually unbalancing the entire team.

take him and out and give henderson a shot with lucas. he didnt make it at rangers for this reason too.

We have to beat either Chelsea or Citeh, simple as that.

I'm sorry but Adam was the one putting blocks in and covering today. lucas was joe average. neither compliment each other. a 3 including spearing or perhaps adam and spearing.

I see no problem with having here as a squaddie, bring him on for 20 or 30 minutes at the end of a game when everyone else is tired and let him pull a few strings. He's a passenger when he starts though.

So Lucas is to blame for Adam's lack of form and fitness?
