if you were a manager the only way you could look at chelsea positively would be for a big payday when the inevitable sack comes.

we're sat here feeling sorry for RDM while he's probably gone with a 4m handshake. Rafa left us with 7m.

i wish someone would sack me and give me 4m. I'd buy est and rename it rawk.

If the likes of Citeh and the Chavs qualify in the top 4 and fail to meet the Fair play rules does this mean the next teams in 5 and 6 place gain entry (providing they meet the FP rules)

i think this is the first of three years qualifying period. So they will look at average losses over the three years and then kick city and chelsea out.

Rafa to become chelseas new manager.

Its not going to be easy for him because there are still some very big and old personalities in that dressing room who will no doubt make things hard for him.

hats off to steve clarke because he's got them into 3rd place.

absolutely unbelievable and the way we treated him was not right.

                  And what way was that?

Rejecting his resignation only to sack him a week or 2 later.

But, wouldn't that mean he'd get his contract paid up in full ?

Was on holiday at the time. Just did some light reading, can't see where his resignation was declined (although I do vaguely remember something along those lines) but interestingly, Rodgers told Clark to stay on when he was first linked to the club.

I reckon Clarke was asked if he wanted the WBA job before he left us

                            But it wasn't about money.

He handed in his resignation out of respect for Kenny, the owners didn't respect his wishes and at the same time put confidence in him. Making him feel needed and wanted by the club obviously.

Then he was told 2 weeks later, I believe it was, you're no longer wanted.. It's completely disrespectful to the man. Yes he got paid out but that's hardly the point.

I'm going off memory myself mate so that could have been the case. At the time I remember it feeling wrong and all a bit strange.

You just have to Google 'Steve Clarke leaves Liverpool' and it's all there.

As for the Champions League this year, although it is not impossible, I'd be very content with a Europa League position and a summer for Rodgers to get rid of the rest of the dross, a year behind the club where youngsters have picked up experience and another transfer window to add to the team.
