Need to cheer on Napoli and AC Milan to make sure the discussion is about the top 4 positions rather than top 3.

We had a terrible squad in 2005 and look what happened. Imagine if we do finish 4th only to see that porcupine lift the Champions League.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSurely we're a year or two from that being an issue?
Or are you referring to the Premier League losing a 4th CL spot?

Just realised now that you were talking about Chelsea or Arsenal finishing outside the top 4, but winning it and therefore ****ing us up if we got 4th...
Dont worry, it wont happen, neither are remotely near good enough to oust Madrid, Barca or Bayern.

Ha ha, this thread is hilarious. I’d love to know how many people who are claiming 4th is the be all and end all were giving Rafa grief when Cl qualification was a given under him and he largely dominated the tournament that now just qualifying for is a sign of greatness.
And there is no need for anyone to take my words literally as I can understand what they are maybe suggesting in the bigger picture, but I do also remember what was argued not too long ago.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think that on paper we should win, it goes without saying that I want us to win but I will not assume that we will win.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostDo you think we will beat Cardiff?
Or do you think we'll lose to them?
And nothing, it was just a question. Also have they ever played in the Millennium Stadium before? I don;t know but I think they've played in the new Wembley more than we have but we've probably played in the Millennium Stadium more than they have?Originally posted by Craig_H View Post
And...?
It's not an and anything, nothing inferred by the question or observation. Just something that came into my mind.

You're in an exam, the question is 'who will win the League Cup' and there's a box with Liverpool written above it and one with Cardiff written above it - which box do you tick?

I think Rafa got grief when we finished 7th. Not 4th.

Ha ha, who'd have thought you'd have responded? Don't though Craig, especially on the strength of that response.Originally posted by Craig_H View Post

rafa got grief for not winning the league because finishing in the top 4 should be a stop on the way to winning the league. it's a near term target that will set us up nicely for a run at the league someday. dominating the cl for several years was massive and felt great. but ultimately, we want to be looking at winning the league. not sure i ever actually gave him any grief about the above myself. but i recall it being said.dave of mutilation
