Ha ha, thanks for your input but this was a few years ago when people did want Rafa out.

That was the crux of the matter RedReet.

If Arsenal finish outside the top 4, Wenger will be getting a ton of grief, like he is at the moment, because when you're at risk of dropping out after a period of consistency, then there is bound to be a massive inquest as to why.

You've gone onto a rant about why people wanted Rafa out and are puzzled as to why attitudes have changed. We've been through the mud. Usually, it's in the darkest of moments when you learn and become stronger. The circumstances in the league have changed with the emergence of Manchester City and Tottenham. Our regression over the years and the beginning of a new era of rebuilding is currently underway. Everyone's attitudes have changed.

It's an era to appreciate the enormous task at hand and furthermore, it helps us appreciate what went before us.

We are talking about different things mate. Despite the fact that I personally would have given Rafa at least another year to turns things around, I can fully accept the decision to sack him after finishing 7th as this is a results business afterall and 7th isn’t good enough. I have no issue with that, so for me that isn’t the crux of the matter which is why I chose to ignore it initially.

My ‘rant’ was more focusing on the previous years before we finished 7th when I thought we were progressing nicely and much of the ‘criticism’ was extremely unjustified. It was a flippant remark poking fun at nobody in particular as I thought about what was written then to what is being written now. Despite Craig protesting about the ‘abuse’ point, he still felt the need to defend himself with his ‘finishing 7th’ post. I think you are then in danger of thinking I’m tarring everyone with the same brush as Craig, which is not the case, I just remember particular arguments discussions with him on the subject.

Obviously I’m fully aware that circumstances have changed drastically and as a result our expectations. From where we were just over a year ago, people have had no choice but to lower their expectations. I just found it amusing reading them now, having remembered past discussions.

Edit: And BTW it was late(ish) on a Friday night when I posted, so I wasn't exactly sober. But by **** am I sorry I did now.

I didn't realise Operation worked for the FA and was appointed judge and jury.
