Lucas was ****ing immense today. Our level of commitment was superb, but Suarez didn't have enough support in my opinion. We controlled the game, but lack of quality out wide (Downing and Kuyt) cost us.

All in all, a great performance against the likely champions, but a dissapointing result.

Encouraged at the second half performance.

I don't see the criticsm being aimed at Downing without some being aimed at Hendo, at least Downing got some crosses in, just a shame there was no-one to aim for.

I agree with Mos, we need another striker with pace.

Charlie Adam is getting much better too.

      One word; Encouraging.

They have leaked a lot of goals away this season Esp towards the beginning of the season.

Kenny's getting it right absolutely. We just need to play like this against the lesser teams but it's a different ball game because they defend in numbers. Tactically we were very good, should have won that match though.
          Are we winning?

            That was the key.

Maxi should have started and when they were left with 10 men it should have him and not Kuyt who got subbed.

We need a solution on the right as well, Kuyt is getting slower and the less said about Henderson the better.
              We come not to play.

I'm a bit disappointed, in a way it feels like a loss considering how well we played, goes to show how far we've progressed in such a short time. The way they couldn't hold onto the ball was brilliant in the second half was fantastic. Very happy with the defence in its current form as well, we've played against very different (and very good) forwards whom offer different qualities, this week and last and they've held up strong. Reina was top notch today which was pleasing.

If we maintain this intensity, then the results should flow against lesser opposition, like the ones we'll have soon.

We need a winger, not a striker. We struggle to create out wide.

We won't win the league but **** me we're not far off. It will be a crime if we don't get top 4 this season

I thought Henderson had an excellent game second half. Maxi should have played based on merit due to his excellent performance last week but Henderson did well. He's going to be a very good player.

Wing forward/forward whichever way you say it.

I have been patient with Downing but he's becoming drosser by the day. How many left footed shots has he bottled when we needed them?

Well they did thump Utd at the toilet.

i dont think maxi would work anywhere near as hard for the team as henderson did today

A top striker is a priority in January.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon
