I haven't read the whole thread, just skimmed through it, but I have to say this performance was quite something considering we lacked quality on the wings, Luis was having an off day, Henderson was poor and Adam was holding up play.

I enjoyed the match and the performance, could use with another finisher somewhere in the team.
    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Adam has been VERY good in the last two games imo

I dont get the complaints about him at the minute

hes been good along with the new pressing, still has a long way to go how many good centre mids are so 1 footed?

A confident, in form Stuart downing could have made the difference today in front of goal. I feel for the lad, he looks nervous and his technique is far better than his chances showed today. We created loads against the best team in the league. Clinical finishing is still an issue, but we got so many on target today, the keeper was just on top of his game.

Don't understand the criticism of Adam. He would have been man of the match if Lucas wasn't so superb.

The two of them have been excellent the last two games. It speaks volumes how well we've coped without Gerrard. Kenny's done an excellent job when you factor his absence in.

              Totally.

I'm not his biggest fan but he played well both against Chavs and Cityh.

I think Lucas went up another level again today in terms of a defensive midfielder, David silva rarely contributed anything of note because he was forced back into midfield by Lucas. To have a player who can take a world class opposition player and nullify him is an invaluable asset to the team and probably something we have missed since mascherano left.

I also think dalglish answered his critics well today. He obviously told lucas to hang off silva and to give him the odd shove in the back to let him know he won't get much time on the ball, I saw agger rush up from defense to do this when Lucas couldn't get to him. So he had a clear plan to take out silva and it worked because Neither him nor aguero had great games.

The team has always played pass and move football under dalglish and the second half showed why it is so effective when executed correctly, henderson also helped out in midfield more, the dilemma as I saw it was around 70 minutes when we were clearly controlling the game but at the cost of 5 in midfield, he ordered carroll to get ready before balotelli got sent off showing that he had always planned on going for it. Anyways his sub worked as plan, Carroll came on and would have scored if it were not for a freakish save from hart who I rate to one day become the best keeper in the game, he certainly showed that today.

I know some ppl don't like to here the unlucky line, I get that it's frustrating but there isn't much else to say, we deserved to win.

Feel sorry for alot of the players. Not getting results for the huge effort they have been putting into the games, not just this one put the majority of the games this season. Not for their lack of trying in any of the games. Some lack confidence, others just look shattered (Suarez)

I think you are being harsh here

The lad has played really well the last couple of games

People need to stop picking holes in some players and get behind them

Adam is undeserving of criticism in the last few games

So far this season Adam has been criticised for being unfit, for leaving the team too exposed, for not being a good enough passer, for being too slow in and out of possesison and for being too one footed

Its a wonder hes made it to Premier League level with all those flaws in his game

So do I its been a feature of the season, yet they have plugged away in most games

All the criticism he got was justified as it is the praise he's getting now for his performances in last couple of games.

He stepped up and clearly there is a big difference between Adam before and Adam now.

The question is if he can do this consistently game in and game out.

Cant really complain about that, we battered them second half and thoroughly deserved to win, and with something to spare too. Hart kept them in it.

Lucas was out of this world, Pepe on his toes and Johnson was very good too, along with Enrique who gets better and better. Suarez a little quiet by his usual standards, Kuyt full of energy but not really quality. Adam growing into his stature at the club all the while, but Downing poor for me. Henderson had a good game, promising development.

Feel for big Andy, 8 minutes and almost wins it for us. One wonders what he could have done with a half hour cameo.

Disappointing not to win, but the consistency in our performances will bode well.

                              Onward.

I disagree I think people with clear preconceptions or prejudices about Adam were happy to blame him

Yes hes stepped it up a level but I thought some of the criticism was way over the top previously

You have to remember two weeks ago people were calling for Adam to be dropped and Kenny to be gone also

I think this is the problem here its always black and white no shades of grey
