If that tackle happened 10 times over a weekend, I don't think half would result in red cards. It's not a matter of once being able to tackle like that but now you can't, it wasn't a red card offence on 5/12/2011 imo.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostFair enough, but you get my point. I'm sure you can come up with some examples of dangerous challenges without any malice involved.
Yeah, it used to be extremely rough - I watched an old match on ITV from the mid 80's and some of the challenges were absolutely brutal. But football just isn't like that anymore. Jay knows the rules - he's not some ancient player struggling to adapt to this 'over-zealous officiating' - it's pretty much been this way for as long as he's been playing.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

A group of players dont tend to get worked up over a fair, ball winning challenge so I dont agree.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostI was surprised the Fulham players didn't make more of a deal of it. If the exact same thing happened to one of our players at Anfield, the team would have been all over it and you know it.

This logic is ridiculous, his ankle could snap in any challenge!Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostWhen it happened, it looked like a great challenge but it's obvious from those gifs that there was a dangerous follow through (the guys ankle could've snapped) and it's a red, no doubt.

Mate, you see a group of players going wild over anything that can potentially swing a game in their favour. Players are always looking to gain an advantage. I found the behaviour of the Fulham players to be very odd. I think most teams would have reacted very strongly to it. Maybe it's because the ref produced the red almost instantly. I thought it was weird anyway.Originally posted by Chris View PostA group of players dont tend to get worked up over a fair, ball winning challenge so I dont agree.
Anyway, I've had my say on this. It was a reckless, dangerous challenge, and Spearing can have no complaints. I'm out.K ris90210

IF that was a red card (and the ref is using the letter of the law) then Dempsey should have gone as well for puting his head in Bellamy's face
How the hell Bellamy could get a yellow card (the same as Dempseys) for his part in those handbags I'll never know
Also how Senderos can be booked for the Adam tackle yet get off with the Carroll rugby tackle is beyond belief
That is the worst refereeing performance I have seen for sometime (and that is saying something!!!))
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

Totally agree with this, the Ref was SKY TV starstruck & awful; so many incorrect decisions. Senderos should have been sent off, Dempsey sent off, Spearing Yellow, Suarez penalty or at the very least obstruction & on & on.Originally posted by Lecter View Post

No he didnt. But earlier in the match he should have redcarded the guy who did score the goalOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostIt's nonsense that you think that that game was impossible to win because of the ref. Did the ref score their winning goal too?"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."
