Its easy to make excuses and point the fingerOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostNonsense. I doubt the ref would have minded at all if we'd created chances and scored the goals our possession deserved. We could and should have won that game comfortably yet we're hear discussing an on the line foul, a marginal offside decision and whether an aggressive foul was adjudged harshly. People are focusing on the easy excuses to make themselves feel better. Fine.
However I will say I turned to my mate after 10 minutes and said "this refs ****"
The commentators said he'd let the game flow but imo he let things go he shouldnt (for both sides) and stopped when he shouldnt have
I thought he was poor he got most of the major decisions wrong, yes we have the benefit of hidsight but he was the wrong side of everythingLast edited by Lecter; 06-12-11, 12:41 AM.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. It's nonsense that you think that that game was impossible to win because of the ref. Did the ref score their winning goal too?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostHow the **** is it nonsense? When every game-influencing call goes against you, how in ****'s name are you going to go and win the game?
It was pathetic, and exactly how a ref would've called it if he was throwing the game. They arent easy excuses, it's FOUR huge decisions which were ALL wrongly given against us.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Great bit of diplomacy from KennyOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostHe was unbelievably restrained given the circumstances. Even in games we've won we havent got many of the decisions we should haveOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostHow the **** is it nonsense? When every game-influencing call goes against you, how in ****'s name are you going to go and win the game?

Take Chelsea in midweek they should have got a penalty but we should have had 3!!!!Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Where did i say anything about their goal?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIt's nonsense that you think that that game was impossible to win because of the ref. Did the ref score their winning goal too?
If the ref gives every big decision against you, and wrongly, then it's nigh-on impossible to win. He didnt score their goal - and if they hadnt scored it, we'd have drawn. Not won. Geddit?

Ref, and linesman, were reasonably ****. But they usually are in the premiership. For us and for other clubs too.
For me Adam was a defensive liability all day and when Spearing was red carded I was praying Adam got subbed as no way would Henderson be able to carry him even with a dumptruck. As it happens he wasn't subbed and our midfield became so open that even Ruiz looked like a half decent player (even through my grandma is better than him).
Armchair management is great, and I know Kenny's job is not easy. But them's the decisions a manager lives by.One tit for another.

Kenny made a mistake for me today Maxi should have played ahead of CarrollOriginally posted by destinydude View PostDespite whatever the ref did or did not do, we didn't help ourselves. We weren't at our best and we didn't play enough to deserve a win even until that red card.
However losing Lucas is massive for us as it showed today
The thing is you can win games like today even if you dont play well if you get that bit of luck, which has clearly deserted us all season
Woodwork & decisions have really conspired against usBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
