Suarez's strengths IMO is not goalscoring. He needs a foil to pick off his good work. His work rate is tremendous and like Kuyt he is bound to lack a bit of composure in his finishing. He is no Messi.

He needs to be less greedy when sometimes passing the ball to someone else in a better position is the better solution. I think he even tried that but none seem to be on the same wavelength. Carroll's reading of the game is frustrating.

Perhaps part of the problem with Suarez at the moment is he's taking too much responsibility. If we had a few more goal scorers then I think he'd score more.

Yep I think it's part of the problem. He works his bollocks off each game, tracking back, creating chances, trying to score. Need other people to share the burden and take responsibility. I thought Downing tried that yesterday but he's just not good enough and playing him on the right might be hampering him a tad. I don't know why he is instructed to remain there.

Hmm I'm not convinced of that

I think hes a very good player Suarez but the more I watch him the more I think he will be difficult to partner

for all his ability hes generally greedy and wants to take the chances on himself which he invariably misses

He frequently gets in great areas to hurt teams but he tries to take too much on when a simple ball/pass might be the option

Flmao at people having a go at Suarez for poor finishing. The guy is our only potent threat upfront FFS. Carroll had three chances to score and he missed all of them.

Like it or not his finishing is poor, he doesn't have anywhere near as many goals as he should have for the chances he has. Yes his all around play is great he contributes a huge amount to the team, yes he is our top scorer and he does often look the most likely player to score but he is not clinical enough in front of goal like all our other players.

There was one yesterday were Carroll called for a cutback in a great position but Suarez tried to dribble round 3 players

Carrolls movement positioning isnt great but for me its not just him not being on Suarez's wavelength. Suarez would still take the chance on more often than not even when players are better placed

We do need other players to share the goalscoring burden as most players should have more goals than they do.

As for Downing I don't think he was as bad a people like to make out, I thought he put some decent crosses in yesterday, but was far from outstanding IMO he will play better when the team plays with more confidence, but he isn't a player who can make things happen on his own to inspire the change of confidence.

Encouraging thing though is that we are still trying and confidence seems to be high as we're battering most teams. So, we need to keep trying the same things with maybe a cooler head in terms of awareness in front of goal. We shouldn't stop playing the way we are.
