If we score more away from home, apart from pure bad luck and inspired goal keeping, doesn't that mean we are better on the counter than when teams sit back and we have to break them down?
We are but to tbh I'm not really allowed.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I think hes too selflish - maybe thats because of the symptoms you mention above but I'm not sure
The question for me is whether he has previously performed to a different standard in this respect for Uruguay or Ajax. I seem to remember that there are generally less chances in international football than in the PL and his record for Uruguay suggests he must be capable of better.

But some players do well in other countries/internationally but cant transfer that goalscoring form to the Premier League

Kezman & Kuyt spring to mind

I dont know why Suarez's finishing is off but it is

IMO its not down to teammates or the quality of chances

Hes had some really easy chances that with a little bit more composure he could have buried

Sure, but the question is whether what we see is a limitation or due to factors around the way we play or the environment in which he is playing.

I don't think that Kuyt is a useful comparator on this actually as his scoring record for the Dutch national team (and for us to a lesser degree) has changed as he has been used in different ways/roles. Kezman more so but his long term record post Chelsea suggests that something (confidence perhaps) was ruined by factors at Chelsea.

You cant criticise us for relying on fortune to score goals, whilst ignoring the fact that the single goal we shipped was largely down to the same reason.
I can actually because it's irrelevant to this topic.

Of course it's relevant. If we're not conceding, then the amount we need to score is obviously lower.

100% agree with you. He is too selfish (esp for someone who misses so much) - I think possibly he gets a bit desperate if we have not scored early and starts trying too hard.

It's a tough one, sometimes his quick thinking / passes / shots can help us but at other times I sit there wishing he would calm down a bit and take a little more time.

Er, how is it relevant to a thread about why we struggle to score?

It's relevant to the issue of how frequently we score, or 'struggle' to score.

Craig, you may struggle to score but some of us are in a rich vein of form.

You would struggle to score in a brothel
