We also need to sign a new defensive midfielder.

If we don't sign the above players then our chance to finish in the top four will be almost gone.

The squad we have now isn't top four class.

If you watch Kenny's team and style of football where not far off from being as good as Rafa's Machine team of 2009 and better then that.

The big difference is the lack of quality from the players.

The style of play, movement, pressing when Lucas was here is of a very high standard. Certain Players who lack quality are letting us down badly.

The big difference between Kenny and Rafa is that Rafa is excellent getting the best out of both defensive and attacking players.

Kenny hasn't exactly got the best out of our attacking players. Maybe one, Maxi.

Rafa got the best out player after player after player, it didn't matter if it was an attacking player or not. He knew how to fit him into the system.

Dalglish is a better man manager but tactically he isn't even close to be as good as Rafa, not even close.
        Best post of yours!

I was thinking the same today, I even started a post, then I didn't post it and though '****it, it would just sound biased'. But in terms of how grindingly difficult we became under Rafa, how the tactics more or less did work out in the end. We play differently under Kenny, when it's good, it's brilliant, just like under Rafa, but somehow under Rafa's players I felt more comfortable. It's still early days for Kenny, it's just shame the players he bought don't seem to be producing as well as hoped. They seem to require much more thorough training, instructions. When Rafa was here, he'd make sure even Nunez got some crosses in

And that's what I thought about. Kenny pretty much had free reign (money-wise) to get whoever he wanted. Imagine if Rafa had had 55 million to spend on 2 players, no questions asked. I'm not advocating Rafa here, just pointing out it's not all the players fault.

3 players a striker, AM/Winger and defensive mid would be nice this transfer window but if we will sign all 3 or perhaps 1 it will depend on who is available and if we are able to get "value for money' type of a deal.

I'd prefer us to wait until summer if we cannot find some quality or exciting young talent with potential to be high quality signing one day over buying for sake of buying.

Our squad is already deep but we are lacking genuine quality in few places and I hope we do our buying very carefully.

Not really bothered about the result, this is the hardest fixture and we are only 3 points off Chelsea. What is really starting to piss me off is that we paid a lot of money for some absolute ****.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love Rafa back with the ability to spend money. But managers do get it wrong. Fergie with Veron, Kleberson and other ****e. Wenger and Fanny Jeffers. Rafa in his early career with us, although not a massive budget had a free reign to an extent with what seemed like quality signings becoming ****e - Morienties and Later on with Keane

Kenny's got it wrong with a couple and paid UK inflated prices for what seemed like quality.

Course Rafa got it wrong, but think about the amount of 1st targets we couldn't sign for those extra couple of million quid. Simao is one that springs to mind. I understand your points and they're definitely valid.

Let's just hope Kenny makes something of his signings and gets the best out of them, so we can get back to the great football we've seen in parts this season.

Without Lucas and Suarez that is going to be difficult unless we can sign replacements. Playing Carroll on his own up front does not produce good football. He just doesn't suit our system.
