Since Downing plays with so much fear, fear of taking on his man, fear of doing anything other than the simple easy **** - let's give Sterling a go on the wing. He's young enough to be fearless and his recent off field exploits show that he's certainly firing on all cylinders

Couldnt do any worse than Downing.
Downing played in a totally different system at Villa. They built the team around him and Young. That is why they looked like excellent players there and not when they play for us or United. That is why they got much better stats playing for them.

We don't play a system that suits Downing and that is why he isn't delivering. We don't play a system that suits Carroll, that is why he isn't delivering. We play a system that don't suit Kuyt, that is why he isn't delivering. We play a system that don't suit.......

A mixed bag. Ah ok then, so the last 20 years hasnt been ****, as you'd previously implied.

Best manager since Fagan? You've clearly got an anti-Kenny agenda, as nobody without one would just ignore and dismiss his incredible achievements from when he first took the job.

You can let the opposition dominate if they aren't a threat the last third.

A tactic many teams used against us when we had Rafa as manager.
We dominated first half as well, but I think it was to do with us playing decent football (until the final ball)

So are you now admitting that our teams were toothless under Rafa

When he wins the CL with us, you'll have a point.

We can't wait for Andy Carroll to come good. It might never happen.
When Gerrard came on V Newcastle his crossing was top draw

Hell even Carroll couldnt complain at it

                    Today it was VERY poor

I would sell Carroll and Downing as soon as possible. Just admit that they don't suit us and isn't good enough in our system.

They may be excellent playing in another system but I doubt that they will deliver playing for us.

Wrong club at the wrong time for both of them.

Well Sterling has got 2 birds up the duff inside a month

So whilst being a "****house" on that note at least we know he doesnt fire blanks

What since he took over as our manager in January 2011? That's impossible.

I don't know how any of those would be less suited to English football than Downing. I'm convinced that Joaquin would be no worse in England than in Spain. I actually sometimes think due to his willingness to provide width he could be more suited to England than Spain. He'd definitely give Carroll the type of service people are wanting him to receive whether it'd change anything or not I'm not sure.

My point was for the money spent on Downing we could have had our pick of players (who were available, i.e. willing not to play in Europe) and I'm positive that Downing is not one of the best, or even in the upper echelon of the players we could have potentially attracted. Oh well, hindsight is 20-20 but a ****load of people saw this unfolding as it has. I can somewhat understand the thinking behind the move, but thought it was built on questionable logic.

Carroll changes the way we play.

We can't be playing short passing close to the box then getting it out wide, crossing it in, in the hope Carroll will get on the end of it.

Its proven time and time again that we don't get goals from it.

When Suarez plays on his own we are a better side. Granted we haven't taken too many chances but we create far more chances when Carroll is not around.

Henderson and Spearing were good because they kept the passing going but Adam, Kuyt and Downing just seemed to slow us down or are wasteful with their final ball.

End product by Downing, Johnson and Kuyt was poor. We need to sign a new striker because the Andy Carroll tactic does not work.
