This is exactly my point though - my concern is how the players perform. Ultimately, my goal is for us to win - if we're doing that, i can assure you the last thought on my mind is how much a player cost. It genuinely doesnt bother me in the slightest.

As for FSG, i didnt say they'd 'shrug off' £55m, i said it wont negatively impact our spending power going forward. Ask some of the american lads who follow baseball about how much FSG are willing and able to spend. They've done it with the Redsox and they'll do it with us too, not in a City style but they are far wealthier than you seem to give them credit for.

Put it this way, if £55m was their be all and end all, do you think they'd have sanctioned it to be spent so soon into their ownership, with no thought as to what happens if the signings dont deliver?

Ok, if it doesn't bother you then fair enough - I find that very, very odd, but fair enough. But please don't give other people **** when transfer fees do bother them, because it's not a worthless opinion.

And as far as the early spending of 55 million is concerned - do you think they would have sanctioned that if we hadn't just sold Torres for 50 million? We ended up spending almost zero net, and they made a huge impression with the fans. It wasn't that outlandish a decision by them - it actually made a lot of sense. Trouble is, the players haven't performed.

As I said, time will tell on the spending power of FSG. Let's wait and see on that front.

If hes got more than a 10% conversion rate I'd suggest he is the answer (all be it a short term one)

I love Rafa, but he isn't our manager anymore so there's no point in discussing it. I'm sure Shanks would be able to lead us to a title too.

Santi Cazorla was cheaper than Mata and has been one of the best players in Spain for the last 3 or 4 seasons. Fantastic set piece taker too. Hell, even Joaquin whom was only 5m euros would've been a better shout. He's up and down but he's got balls and will always run at his man and put in crosses. That's two obvious better options off the top of my head.

Then there's a long list of players who didn't move who would've been a lot cheaper and more easily obtainable, the likes of Xabi Prieto and Antoine Griezmann come to mind.

Not sure all of those would be suitable in English footy, Joaquin especially, but Cazorla is a good shout, similar age too.

Since Downing plays with so much fear, fear of taking on his man, fear of doing anything other than the simple easy **** - let's give Sterling a go on the wing. He's young enough to be fearless and his recent off field exploits show that he's certainly firing on all cylinders

I'm not saying City should be our benchmark FFS, i'm saying if they're able to flout FFP, then everyone is. Surely you can see that? And if you think Uefa will seriously boot out clubs like Madrid, Barca, United etc for flouting FFP, then you're so wildly off the mark, it's not even funny.

Sorry but this is insanity. We spent 94 minutes putting crosses into City's box and I honestly can't remember AC coming close to scoring from even one of those crosses. So either no one in our team can cross or perhaps Andy is a slow donkey without the movement or guile to get on the end of those crosses.

Hoofing the ball towards AC is not and never will be the way forward for this club.

I was prepared to accept after Newcastle that he needed better service. Our crossing wasn't by any means threatening tonight but there were a lot of balls put into their box. The only one I recall him winning was the layoff for Dirk. His positional play is very poor. I really want him to succeed and prove us wrong, but we need to progress and make Champions League. We can't wait for Andy Carroll to come good. It might never happen.

Well do you think having a wage bill that's more than your turnover will conform to the FFP rules?

Do you think they've bought LFC with the objective for the club to NOT bring in stacks of money?

And do you think they dont know that for LFC to maximize its potential, it needs to be in the CL?

You said we've got loads of money, like now, in the present. I'm merely asking how much we've got now, since you are purporting to be clued up on this matter.

There is no guarantee that’s we’ll be in the CL next season, so, if we are not, what then? And there is still the stadium issue that needs to be sorted, and that could burn a significant hole in our wallet.

They were a mixed bag, that's what they were. He was certainly our best manager since Joe Fagan.
