Very simplistic view IMO, strange logic.
I dont know what possible thought process you undertook when you decided to hold the vaguest of assumptions that i give a flying one what you think. Really bizarre.

I suggest you turn on the TV and watch the game in future before postingOriginally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostSorry but this is insanity. We spent 94 minutes putting crosses into City's box and I honestly can't remember AC coming close to scoring from even one of those crosses. So either no one in our team can cross or perhaps Andy is a slow donkey without the movement or guile to get on the end of those crosses.
Hoofing the ball towards AC is not and never will be the way forward for this club.
Our crossing was ****ing abysmal, barring when Enrique put the cross to the back post
You constantly criticise Carroll whilst excusing others
Downing and Kuyt were shockingly **** today

I'm starting to think we should just get rid of Carroll. He is more trouble than he is worth.
It's not his fault, its the astronomical price tag on his head. I'm sure he could be a good player in the future but its just not worth the hassle anymore.
Kenny is probably tempted to play him to try to prove people wrong but surely if he isn't helping the team but hindering it then he should not be starting games?
He should just be sold so we can get this monkey off our back. Take the shame of it, put it behind us, buy a new striker, move on and forget about it.

He is a genius though, he's a professor of football.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWell then stop lauding him as the genius who had us in utopia.
Give Rafa £100m and he'd win you the League title, that's how good he is.
This is the man who led us to CL with the likes of Dudek, Biscan, Baros and Traore playing in our CL games.
The man achieved so much on a shoe string budget, just imagine what he'd achieve on a similar budget to Kenny? The possibilities are endless as far as Benitez is concerned and I cannot wait to see him back where he belongs. To me he is as much as legend of this club as Kenny is.

This is exactly my point though - my concern is how the players perform. Ultimately, my goal is for us to win - if we're doing that, i can assure you the last thought on my mind is how much a player cost. It genuinely doesnt bother me in the slightest.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostYes, I see your point Craig, but like I said, it's just so bloody simplistic! If the fee doesn't matter then would you be happy if we'd spent 30+ million on Enrique? Simple question.
And I think you vastly overestimate their wealth if you think they'll shrug off 55 million on players we'd struggle to recoup even half that on if they were sold now. But time will tell on that, but certainly everything we've read seems to suggest that they spend within their means as opposed to 'doing a city.'
As for FSG, i didnt say they'd 'shrug off' £55m, i said it wont negatively impact our spending power going forward. Ask some of the american lads who follow baseball about how much FSG are willing and able to spend. They've done it with the Redsox and they'll do it with us too, not in a City style but they are far wealthier than you seem to give them credit for.
Put it this way, if £55m was their be all and end all, do you think they'd have sanctioned it to be spent so soon into their ownership, with no thought as to what happens if the signings dont deliver?

He was also involved in the build up for Downings chanceOriginally posted by Chazza1978 View PostHow many of those crosses missed the 1st man?
And how many of them that went passed the 1st man were anywhere near Carroll
I don't think he deserves much stick tonight the crosses were **** his link up wasn't bad had a decent flicked effort and set up Kuyt
He needs a goal and we need to put the ball into areas he can score and until we learn how to cross its not going to happen.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

For me is not the money we spent so much as that is the water under the bridge now, nothing we can do about it but I have seen so little from both of them to think that they will ever come close to be decent buys.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostThey did.. though one blunder cost Chelsea pretty much that for one player
Point is that about half the money spent looks good, half of it not so good. The Carroll fee was mad, but then the context of the Torres fee was too, so that one really is a bit of a special case. Yeah, absolutely we should have banked it instead, but hindsight is wonderful. Downing, well, I remember Spurs spending similar money on David Bentley.... we definitely overspent too but not to quite such a disastrous level.
If these are players that would need some time to blend in fine but to me their mechanics, the level of skills they bring to the table, look totaly wrong and I just don't think they have enough of skills nor quality to ever turn into much more than potentially ok type of footballers for us and that is the most frustrating and disappointing part.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

in no way were we outplayed but in the final 3rd we were poor, Downing and Kuyt were simply awful and hindered the attacking play more than created/assisted it.

If Rafa is so good, why the **** was the last 20 years so **** then??? Clarify this contradiction, will you?Originally posted by KingKenny77 View PostHe is a genius though, he's a professor of football.

Originally posted by acdmackay View PostI actually think this was our poorest performance this season just because of the lack of chances we created. Considering the amount of possession we had and the play we dominated, we should be creating a lot more. There was just a lack of ideas and it was so predictable. Kuyt, Downing, Johnson and Adam lacked any innovation. Those long, floating crosses into Carroll.
The delivery was poor, there was very little pace in the side and the tactic just wasn't working. We know we can play better. When we have Maxi, Bellamy, Suarez and Lucas in the side its just a whole different team. I think we need to work on crossing and our attacking play considerably. We were very unlucky to lose by 3 goals but we made very little chances ourselves.
Other than Downing (who I'd swap for Adam) I think starting as we finished is our best side (at this moment)Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

ah i just like to point out how consistently wrong you are because you're so pedantic and hypocritical.
And you're opinion holds no value to me whatever....... but it seems to be very important to you, hence you're relentless pursuit of repeating yourself over and over and over. Have fun arguing yourself out of that paper bag Mr H

wow - that statement is so full of holes that I'm convinced someone has logged into your account and posted in your stead. City should be our benchmark now should it? We don't know what the **** UEFA are going to do about City. Would you really be willing to jeapordise our future going down that line? Especially as spending Cityesq amounts would certainly require us to put the club heavily in debt - been there, done that.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe do have loads of cash.
And living within our means - well City arent and our FFP ratios are already infinitely better than their's. So if Uefa allow them to get away with it, we can too.
You're much, much better than this. The fee does matter. There's no shame in changing your opinion mate
