Ok fair points on the "defend racist language" thing, but I do agree with the underlying point he is making. Our response was so hamfisted and histrionic that we have given succour to the nobheads.Originally posted by Trippendicular View PostApart from the baseless conjecture and blatant misinformation?
'When you defend racist language' - Apart from the fact that the report only found Suarez guilty of abusive language anyway(and found him to not be racist), at no point did Kenny or the club 'defend racist language'. They simply defended their player, who they believe to not have used racist language, and, despite what the report might say, argued that there was no evidence that Suarez had said anything abusive at all.
'Maybe they will deny that Adeyemi was abused, too.' - Insinuating that Suarez definitely racially abused Evra despite any legitimate evidence.
'English football is desperate to put the Luis Suarez Affair behind it, but such is the bitterness and resentment that has grown up around the issue, it may take a lot longer than we think.' - If they're so desperate to put it behind them, do your part and stop writing incendary articles about it every other day.
And all this from the man who isn't sure "black cunt" is a racist phrase, but who already knows that Adeyemi was racially abused.
It was a nuanced case that required a sensitive, more delicate response. LFC could have chosen that and diffused the wider explosiveness. But what happened was the opposite.

Just read road ends post..I was row 15 so just a bit behind you mate and have virtually the same outlook on it as you....glad I wasn't the only one feeling uncomfortable with the booing... The lad didn't deserve that at all.... The chants of only one lying ******* I hope we're at evra but could easily be read like they were aimed at him
****ing pissed with it tho.. Why now!! Why after everything that's going on!!,
Racism is terrible but had no situation with evra/suarz happened this would have just led to condemning of the ipdickhead individual...instead it's going to kick off another national ****storm
Another thing I'm pretty confident that's what ever happened will come out and the police will catch the cunt... I know for a fact the police have every inch of the ground covered by CCTV...I know this because I know a now retired senior ranking policeman who was the head of match day control and for a laugh he used to find me and my mates using the cameras and show us some ****ing funny pictures of us in the crowd...they will be able to pinpoint the exact area and break it down and work exactly who everyone is and take it from thereLast edited by PTP; 07-01-12, 02:38 AM.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

This is all ridiculous. Football really isn't an appropriate vehicle for real debates about important issues. Most of the people who follow and write about football don't have the equipment to do so.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Though I've actually been impressed (as always
) with the level of debate on here. But in general football is not the forum for such sensitive issues.
Modifying post.

People like Holt are as much to blame as the club for how the whole debacle has turned outOriginally posted by alunevans View PostIt was a nuanced case that required a sensitive, more delicate response. yet Holt doesn't speak for Liverpool Football Club, and Liverpool Football Club does. Getting our house in order is our job. And part of that is making sure that we don't leave the club wide open for this sort of criticism. Because as it stands even to a Liverpool fan like me, I read the criticism and it seems justified.Originally posted by Trippendicular View PostPeople like Holt are as much to blame as the club for how the whole debacle has turned out

Personally I think its out of order. Fine that something bad has happened, but I think this is unnecessary.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOne of them called him KKK Dalglish for ****s sake.Quit your jibber jabber!!!
