Ah, bit of as mix up there really, i was more commenting on the fan abuse, then when i posted your post was suddenly above, i took my time a bit.

Trying to multi task here. Eat, Drink, Type, Watch Telly.

I was trying to say, it's not right to judge a crime based on the climate at the time, judge it on the seriousness of the offence.

Why the **** woud someone cry over anything said to them? Even if it was raciall abuse why on earth would the guy be crying? Obviously if he was racially abused then it's disgusting but I can't understand crying.

Maybe frustration got the better of him? He might have felt the urge to do something about the abuse, but felt powerless.

In an ideal world you're right, and it's certainly something to be wary of. Look at the way the riots were dealt with for instance.

All the same, it's not an ideal world and everything has to be taken into account - the social climate, the history, the people involved, everything. Moral absolutes are important for defining the principles of law, the aims, what we would like to achieve, but have to be applied relativistically in practice. Context is everything, something we have rightly argued for about Suarez yet which some are eager to forget when it comes to Diane Abbott, or indeed Patrice Evra.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                also agree.

I'm not sure what lit the fuse, possibly Evra initiallly claiming Suarez used the term '******' when he hadn't - possibly we went on the offensive because of this alongside the knowledge (or opinion) that Evra had previous at this kind of thing.

'They're trying to stitch us up here'. Fight or flight. We chose to fight which was understandable as one of our own was being attacked.

However would have been much better to just apologise immediately for any unintended offence to Evra.

                It's all such a shame.

Well people behave differently based on their sensitivity level. Hardly a surprise is it?
                  Are we winning?

Well I wouldn't have said I was suprised unless I thought it was suprising.

First time I've seen it. The Suarez song was really classy.

                        F*cking hell, what a mess.

True, but not a patch on Munich songs, or Hillsborough ones which seem to be more accepatble, or accepted without as much fuss by the media....somehow!

Country is ****ed up mentally. imo.

                            This.

If it definitely was this type of abuse just ban the one of two individuals for life - there was mic right next to the incident so that should of caught something. Perhaps as a gesture of good will the club could offer to pay couselling fees for Adeyemi (if he wants it) - a verbal incident which reduces someone to tears must have done some psychological damage or have initial underlying issues - which may certainly affect his future games.

Didn't the Oldham starting 11 have two massive Liverpool fans? Given how damaging this already to the Club (scumbag media) it would be nice if they came out publically (at some point) and re-iterated something along the lines that it was only one individual, the players had nothing to do with it, it was nice of Stevie to diffuse the situation etc...

                              It's the timing though.

                              Depressing.
