Why shout "Manc *******" though? I could almost understand it if the 'supporter' shouted that at all of the Oldham players throughout the game, but not at this lad in isolation. We'll find out in due course, I hope it is just a misunderstanding.

To be fair to him it could have been an outburst caused by losing it through anger.

One thing I think is worth pointing out. IMO it is no coincidence that this has happened at a Cup game which was downpriced. These games always attract the "one game every 4 years " knobheads who don't know how to behave. You get this **** at Youth Cup matches too. I'll be prepared to wager that any culprit,if there was one, will be one of these people.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

That's a good point, I remember the Man Utd liverpool youth game having massive problems with chants at the start of last year.

Shame the title can't be edited but you get the drift..
If its the 3 guys in Suarez tshirts & jester hats like I've read it was....then their faces are clear to see.

And the booing was disgraceful given the context.
I agree although I can see how a siege mentality could persuade normally sane people to boo. Also if you are at the back of the Kop all you might have seen is the guy shouting at someone at the front with no idea what prompted it. It would look like he was having a go at our fans which again would prompt the response.

The photographers indicated it was nearer the goal than those guys in the corner.

Look at the video. You can clearly see the Suarez lads in the corner while the Oldham player is having a go at some people right in line with the edge of the penalty area.

Even if there is substance to it, there was a problem last night that needs to be handled. Dragging in other stuff really doesn't help, it just makes it look like we're making excuses.

And, I think, it encourages behaviour like we saw last night.
Works both ways though. Apparently our behaviour in defending Suarez encourages some of of more dim-witted fans to think they can get away with racism.

Authorities not punishing acts such as coin throwing give an impression that they condone it and will encourage others who think they can get away with it.

While racism, homophobia, sexism have no place in a game that wants to be inclusive it crazy to suggest than ANY form of verbal abuse is worse than physical acts of agression.

Not just the title that needs amending - the captions do too. Clearly the uploader has an agenda. If it is proven to be racism then it should be dealt with by the proper legal avenues.

But young boy? He's 21 ffs. He is a victim but he is some wet behind the ears kid. He's an adult.

I imagine Ferguson will be very pleased with the way our reputation is being damaged and I am certain that he will play Evra at Anfield at the next opportunity knowing full well that he will be booed by most of our supporters and racially abused by some.

Sadly not everyone is bright enough to think that. Newspapers run with stories about racist abuse and refering to guys in Suarez t shirts. Their faces are the ones that are clear and they could easily be recognised and harassed for nothing.

To look at the video is clear that it is nothing to do with them. But whats a few innocent men (and thousands of other spectators) having their names dragged through the mud because of the actions of a few people [and to sell newspapers]

To be fair, they should be harrassed for wearing jester hats.

As I recall the serious booing occurred after his bad tackle on Flanaghan.
