Well, there is still a huge difference because that alone wouldn't give them the same context. Both of those cases would be utterly disgusting, but let's not pretend they are exactly the same because they aren't.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostIf it is inteded as offensive because the person delivering it sees white people as inferior to their own race then there is no difference. Obviously this specific case doesnt apply, but it is still just as offensive
I think a hell of a lot of people are confused about the issue. Or at least their thinking is pretty confused.Originally posted by MrNice View PostMate I think some people, well meaning people are genuinely confused about this issue, not suggested Nick is one of those people. Also I would just like to remind everyone the world is a very big place with different cultural norms etc, we should not all be very quick to cast judgements on people.
For me Race relations, racism ,multiculturilsm is a very complex issue and one which is rarely if ever tackled in school, in the community or at home. Education, communication, understanding and respect should be the order of the day

This is also how a case should be dealt with when there is insufficient evidence.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSo Adeyemi misheard it then. Surprise surprise.
Not the kid's fault, no blame attached to him, but the condemnation was a disgrace. I wonder if any of those cunts will take it back.
FA. Sort it out.Oh I don't know.

Although it can't be proved what was said either way, so we can't prove he misheard it either.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSo Adeyemi misheard it then. Surprise surprise.

Can't be proven, but:
I never thought anyone would be moronic enough to shout "you black *******" at someone, at any time, but particularly at *that* time. I was also surprised that people in the vicinity didn't react as you'd expect them to had someone shouted something racially abusive. It never stacked up to me.Enhanced isolated sound on CCTV and nearby fans supporting arrested man's contention he did not shout racist abuse crucial to CPS decisionThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

A Liverpool fan arrested on suspicion of racially abusing an Oldham's Tom Adeyemi has been released without charge.
Latics defender Adeyemi claimed that he was subjected to comments during the FA Cup third round encounter between the sides at Anfield on January 6, which the Reds ran out 5-1 winners.
The 20-year-old, who is on loan at Boundary Park from Norwich City, was seen visibly distressed and had to be calmed by players from both sides and referee Neil Swarbrick, who noted his complaint.
Merseyside Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Aintree in connection with the allegations but the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) today ruled that there was insufficient evidence to press charges.
Oldham director Barry Owen said: "Oldham Athletic Football Club would like to thank Merseyside Police and the Crown Prosecution Service for a thorough and painstaking inquiry.
"The events of the evening were unsavoury in respect of the incident, but should not detract from a fantastic night for our players and spectators alike.
"As a club, we accept the difficulties for all concerned investigating a matter such as this and, without reservation, accept the decision.
"I have not been able to discuss the issue with the player, but I am sure his agent or legal representative will make any comment they deem necessary."

TOM ADEYEMI STATEMENT
Posted on: Mon 12 Mar 2012
Oldham Athletic has issued the following statement in relation to the decision by the Crown Prosecution Service not to take action against the Liverpool fan accused of racially abusing Tom Adeyemi during the FA Cup tie at Anfield on Friday, January 6th.
Director Barry Owen said: "Oldham Athletic Football Club would like to thank Merseyside Police and the Crown Prosecution Service for a thorough and painstaking inquiry.
The Crown Prosecution Service statement read:
A Liverpool fan who was accused of racially abusing an Oldham Athletic FC player during an FA cup match at Anfield will not be charged with an offence.
Jane Roden, Head of the Complex Casework Unit, CPS Mersey-Cheshire, said: "I have considered a file of evidence submitted by Merseyside Police, relating to an incident which occurred on 6th January 2012 when Liverpool and Oldham Athletic met in the FA Cup.
"In the 79th minute of the game, Oldham Athletic player Tom Adeyemi alleged that a fan had shouted a racially abusive comment at him, after he retrieved the ball from near the crowd. Mr Adeyemi reported the incident to the referee. The referee notified the fourth official, who then notified the police.
"No action was taken until after the final whistle. Mr Adeyemi spoke to officers after the match and gave a statement to the police on 8th January.
"A suspect was identified and arrested. During interview he admitted shouting at the player, but denied it was of a racial nature. He was released on police bail pending a decision from the CPS.
"I have viewed the extensive CCTV footage available, which has been enhanced to isolate and improve the sound. I have also read statements from Mr Adeyemi, the match officials and the many independent witnesses to the incident, many of whom came forward after the game to offer their evidence after hearing media reports of the incident.
"There are two important factors I have relied upon when making my decision: the enhanced CCTV footage and the high proportion of witness statements which tend to support the suspect's version of events.
"On the balance of all of the evidence, I have therefore concluded that there is insufficient evidence to bring any criminal charges in this case and I have advised Merseyside Police of my decision."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
