Potentially being 3 years without CL football is depressing. Talking to Red friends I've been saying that I've kinda fallen our of love a little with being an LFC fan in the last 18 months - the end with Rafa and everything to do with that Hicks cunt, the Hodgson months and on to this. But what I've realised is that rightly or wrongly I miss CL football. I'd gotten used to not winning the league but the way Rafa had every team in Europe fear us (and sadly I was often critical of the way we played - didn't realise how ****in good week had it) was amazing.

Anyhoo, yet another night where I probably won't watch MOTD. The football fan in me has no ****in interest whatsoever in watching the highlights of a nil-all draw with cuntin Stoke.

Re: Carroll - for 35m here should have way more to his game than a need for proper ****in service. Make something happen for chrissake! Knock someone over or give someone a fat lip or a few stitches at least. He definitely needs a goal for confidence obviously but he needs someone sort of coaching on getting back and making something happen for himself or someone else.

Gamechangers/skill : not currently available in the UK. But foreign please until someone from the reserves is ready (Suso? Sterling?)

Question - where was Gerrard playing today?

My point was they will continue to invest if they want to move forward especially as the initial financial cash inflow is very important in first few years why we are still building the team.

I disagree about not getting into CL not being critical.

Sure we don't need CL to stay in existance but I think it is very much critical for us to make it as it would be third year in row we didn't make it and if we miss it out again not only we'll lose on very lucrative CL revenue but it will affect our other revenue streams from sponsorship deals, marketing, merchandise to fans base erosion and inability to sign quality players, which many will point out is the reason why were are where we are atm.

All these things combine will have impact on us due to FFPR as FSG seems very committed to run their business within those parameters.
Their rate of investment will not change imo

I think its too early to talk sponsorship deals/marketing and fan erosion

Long term if results fail to improve then yes

        Short term not a chance

          I think thats horse****

Bellamy creates more chances than Suarez in terms of minutes per goalscoring chance

Might not spend in January but they will invest as much in the summer as they did last (if not more)

Slap, bang centre. Mainly holding, but as Stoke retreated on to their own 18 yard line, he pushed further on.

I think the balance between Gerrard, Henderson and Adam was more-or-less right; Henderson tended to roam more, Adam came from deep and Gerrard (as always) wanted the ball.

Our main issue today, was from our left flank, up top and a very resolute Stoke.

From my own footballing experiences, when we're desperate for a goal and nerves are showing, it's always one of the outstanding players that will go on to break the deadlock. It's never one of the average players. The really good players have the bottle to keep their nerve and also have a confidence in their ability that doesn't get affected by pressure.

In our squad I'd say we have the following outstanding attacking players :

Gerrard, Suarez and an ageing Bellamy.

At times this season, only one of them has been on the pitch. It's not enough. We should have three on the field and ideally one left, one centre and one right. Threats from all angles.

                    Adam isnt average

FLMAO conveniently missing out Enrique, Coates & Suarez

So the sum of your argument is everyone is **** except Adam, Bellamy, Coares, Enrique & Suarez

But the other 2 (out of the 7 he signed) are

                    All managers make mistakes

Yes even Rafa and Fergie etc.....

I think "fan erosion" for the lack of better term (not necessarily losing fans but now growing them in proportion to other top clubs) has been happening for quite sometime and I think it will continue unless we start winning again and qualifying for CL competition, getting trophies etc.

In terms of sponsorship deals, marketing etc sure we'll always be able to get those but being in CL would help us dictate our conditions and attract more money from those deals which again is directly related to our bottom line success.

Creating chances and missing them isnt much different to not creating as many and still missing them is it???

Dont get me wrong hes a good player and probably one of our most threatening but hes nowhere near as clinical enough and without someone clinical enough with or without Suarez we will continue to miss chances

Dont see how another player helps him stop missing the sitters he has missed

Maybe Carroll and Kuyt need a foil to help them score the easy chances they have missed

Its an excuse for what is clearly one of his flaws

The team was very tired today, only 3 days ago 8 of them played away vs city.

It's either 4th place or league cup! choose one of them !

We got Standard Chartered and Warrior despite not being in the Champions League
