If your conversion rate is 7% then it doesnt matter what chances you have it will still be 7%

More chances he has then more goals he will score but that might not affect his conversion rate (ie he scores 7 in 100 chances, or 14 in 200 chancs - its still only a 7% conversion rate)
Your conversion rate isn't set in stone, if you convert more chances it increases.

And more chances are created & they are better chances, EASIER chances, then logically there is more chance of them being converted.

The problem with most players these days is that when they are signed by a big club they think "thats it job done i've arrived" and i think these quite a few in the team who have this mentallity.

Can we get much easier chances than missing from 6- 8 yards out

Seriously more chances increases the total volume of goals but it doesnt improve the conversion rate

Of course it does FFS, if they are converted more frequently.

If you create 100 chances and score 7 of them = 7% conversion rate.

If you create 200 chances and the '2nd' 100 include more easier chances, then it's likely that more than 7 of them will be converted - let's just say 11 of them are converted.

So out of 200 chances, you've then converted 18 = 9% conversion rate.

              Hence, increased.

I know he's banned now but that sentence highlighted above just proved he was a WUM, he was looking forward to seeing us suffer on the pitch. Blatant WUM

Seriously how do you work out that if you create more chances then they will be easier

You cant get much easier chances than people like Kuyt, Carroll & Suarez et al have missed at times this season

From memory, Carroll has missed far more sitters than Suarez has this season. But how do you measure the difficulty of a chance? This is one of the flaws of only looking at the chance conversion rate - it assumes all chances are equally difficult.

You might notice i used the word 'if'.

So clearly, as you can work out, i'm basing it on the idea of us creating more 'CLEAR' (and thus easier) chances.

Craig Vs Lecter is the new Arn Vs Lecter.

So by definition Craig is the new Arn

Dunno Kris, Suarez is often 'let-off' for his efforts, mainly because he had created the opportunity himself. I can think of many chances thar Suarez has dragged and scuffed, but can only think of Carroll's recently mis-controlled ball against Newcastle.

It can be argued that Carroll isn't in the position to take chances, but he's certainly not wasteful. Bar some great goalkeeping, he could have been rewarded with helping us grab 3 points from games were we ended up with 1.

What I don't see is people saying Carroll has zero technique.

He has a poor touch but his left foot is amongst the best I've ever seen, if he catches it well it normally ends up going in.

The main gripe I have with him is that fact that he drops so deep, he needs to stay around the area. imo.
