It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

I think Souness has to come into it. Stevie right up there. But it has to be Kenny for me

This has a lot to do with feelings as well I reckon, and that't probably why I can only point to Gerrard. I can't really remember much of Kenny's days, he looks like a fantastic player from the clips documentaries etc., but I have far more invested in Gerrard so to speak.

Gerrard is simply an amazing player, and while there have been better players than him technically, finishing wise, tackling, passing and so on - there are no more complete player than Gerrard that can do it all at a world class level. I can't think of one player I have ever seen more complete than him?

And he has carried us for a lot of seasons, with some questionable talent next to him.

Barnes was my favourite. I also loved Steve Nicol and Molby. Kenny was our best ever player though. Stevie G in recent years I guess.

The views are obviously going to be dependent on age.I remember Kenny and him and Rush were my first real football heroes but they played alongside some fantastic players.

For me it has to be Steven Gerrard. He has got the lot as a footballer and has carried the team for a decade with some very average players alongside him and has been responsible for some of the greatest moments I have lived supporting Liverpool.

John Barnes is also up there imo.

                Gerrard.

KD was pretty special but I don't remember him carrying a team the way that SG has done on occasion.

Liking the John Barnes shouts. He is definitely in my top 5 of all time, along with Stevie G, King Kenny, Rushie and Souness.

It's a bit harsh to mark him down on the basis that his teammates weren't sufficiently ****.

The correct answer to the original question is, of course, Kenny. We've been incredibly lucky to have had some truly brilliant players play for us over the years, many already named in this thread. Gerrard, Barnes, Rush, Souness, Hughes, Beardsley, Keegan, Clemence, Hansen, Heighway, Hunt, and many more besides. For me, Kenny edges it because he was just so damn talented. Plus he came in with the unenviable task of replacing a legend, and ended up outshining him. That's no mean feat.

                        Kenny without a doubt.

Stevie is up there along with Barnes and Souness for me.

Shaggy, why do you think Kenny is better?

was lucky enough to see a fair bit of kenny and still turn into a schoolboy whenever I meet him so in that respect he will always be my no 1 saw john barnes in his prime and that team was something else. With regards to stevie he has to be up there in the respect of some of the ****e he had to play with I still get stick over absolutely slaughtering him before that "goal" against olympiacos so for me its

Roger was the ultimate poacher, brilliant at his job but his influence on the team or proceedings was minimal compared wirh Gerrard
