In no particular order, best players i've ever seen in a LFC shirt:

    Dalglish
    Gerrard
    Souness
    Barnes

Hmm I think you're deliberately misunderstanding me to make your point in favour of KD thb.

its kenny for me,yes he was surrounded by class player but with all those class players he still stood out which shows how good he was.

That's a great way of looking at it

No, I'm deliberately misunderstanding you to allow me to make a sarcastic remark for humorous effect.

On a serious note, are you old enough to remember Kenny at his prime? Just wondering, because if I hadn't seen Kenny play at the time, I'd probably opt for Stevie too. If the 74 in your username is the year you were born, then you're just about old enough to have seen him at his best (presuming that you started following LFC at an early enough age).

Barnes for me personally followed by Gerrard and then Fowler.

My dad would have said Dalglish followed by Souness.

The one other thing I thought of before I answered, besideds the "it's all about what emotions you have attached to the player" argument, is how much does position account for peoples decision?

I mean it's so easy to be blinded/allured to the brilliant attacking mids/wingers/forwards, and it's usually those types that get mentioned when talking the best and not the complete player or the defender. What I mean is, that it's easy to point to the most technically gifted offensive player because it's the easiest to stand out on the pitch. And Gerrard is not that type of player, but Kenny is.

In a not complete comparision, it's sorta like the Barca team right now where everybody points to Messi (and he is freaking brilliant), but in reality there are overall better players in the team (Xavi and Iniesta).

Guess I have just always been a fan of the generalist and not the specialist and especially in midfield.
