I am, I am just not blinkered, we are no real better in the league this season despite half a season with Roy last year, how the **** is that good enough? How many chances did we create for Suarez today? How is being 4 points ahead of Norwich good enough? We have spent a lot on players who are simply too limited for us and have very little in terms of goals, we had 2 players on the bench in fact that had more goals each than our entire midfield. We added a good LB and a good but ageing attacker, the rest is far from being good enough. We could have achieved the LC last season without Roy and we went out the FA cup to a dive for a pen. We have spent a lot of money to go sideways.

That's our season summed up in 90 minutes. ****ing hell.

Our players looked sluggish in their passing and mobility. No one linked the midfield and attack which I thought one of Suarez or Kuyt would do.

Absolutely fuming because Van Persie FC didn't deserve anything. I would've taken a 1-0 win and moved onto the next game, simple as. I hate this world.

And what took so long with the subs?

Arsenal could afford to play a high line and use the keeper as a sweeper because we lack pace up top.

Torres and Owen spring to mind of players bursting through on goal, but it was as much about their pace as it was a threaded through ball.
Suarez has the pace to do it, but we don't have the intelligence to play the right balls for him to do that.

i don't think it's a coincidence that we spent money on players from teams who were below us in the league, and didn't have cl to offer. might have done better in the market with better players to choose from.

I meant we've been competing in 3 competitions and done well in 1, still in the other and have been challenging for 4th (which was our minimum aim) up until now. That's progress I think, not to what we want yet but still progress. I think you're pushing the bar a bit too much for 1 first full season of rebuilding. It's not realistic.

Besides, stats does show that we're creating chances.
                Are we winning?

I don't know why Suarez had a pop at Kelly when the latter had it wide right; he looked to go for the early ball, but had to check because Kuyt had dropped to come over and Suarez was holding his run on the 18 yard line.

If Adam should be involved in any exchange of words, it should be Henderson blasting him for not playing him through in the second half.

At the end of the day, we're just not good enough. Haven't been all season. We've had plenty of possession and territorial dominance, but nothing to show for it game after game. Early on, I was willing to chalk it up to a bad day at the office, but there have been far too many bad days at the office.

We have just bought poorly. Adam, Downing and Henderson all are simply not good enough. None of them should be starting in a side with Champions' League aspirations. At least Henderson is young yet and has room for improvement, but what we've seen from Adam and Downing is the best we're going to get. In fact, I think one can argue that we're worse in midfield this year than we were last season after all the money we spent. I'm undecided on Carroll just yet, as the service from the aforementioned three has been so poor that, unless a striker is able to create his own chances like Suarez, nobody is going to have any success in our current setup.

It's just unfortunate that we're shaping to be no better than we were last year, when we were flirting with the relegation places under Roy. And it's terribly unfortunate that, after last summer's spending, we're looking at yet another rebuilding project.

He has the pace, but Suarez is never in a position to receive a through ball. For me he drops to either flank and should be looking at a better placed teammate to feed, rather than the other way around.

Suarez is an island in the current set up.

We need a striker that has pace and can hold up the ball and work off the shoulders of defenders.

There are few out there that can do that but they wouldn't be cheap but imo if we want to push to the next level we have to buy a quality striker and quality AM.

Suarez isn't particularly fast. I don't think he has the pace to burst through. Not on a concistant basis.

i expected more from suarez this season as well. he's a cracking player, but without a significant number of goals to his game, he doesn't do us a lot of good. he's been unlucky, but should be converting more chances. probably just a monkey on his back, but unless he starts scoring we'll really end this season in the **** house.

those comparing this and last season, don't forget we've lost lucas who gives the solid base in midfield. he's vital to our team. thats not a go at any of the others that play.
