Suarez is brilliant in the penalty area, twisting and turning with his low centre of gravity. We need to have players in and around him when he does this to feed off his good work. He's too isolated at times and has to do it all by himself.
      Are we winning?

        One annoying factor:

Carroll for me has played really well in the last few weeks. He is our most expensive player of all time and if we are to keep him at the club then he should be playing in games like today.
        Forwards.......

Under Hodgson we were average, under Kenny we are better but are still average. When you take into account the money Kenny has spent it doesn't look all that rosey.

That's true. But the problem is, apart from Suarez, none of the signings made in the last two windows are vital to our team in anything near the same way. And for me that is a big cause for concern.

Not having Lucas and Stevie for the most part of the season were huge blows for us.

I think we have pretty good nucleus of players in starting 11 and we significantly improved our depth but we are lacking few top notch players in the final third.

Very simple what we need to do to get us where we want to be.

That's progress I think, not to what we want yet but still progress. I think you're pushing the bar a bit too much for 1 first full season of rebuilding. It's not realistic.

Besides, stats does show that we're creating chances.
Not really, we are 10 points off 4th, that is not good and that as you said was our minimum aim.

Great, how many great chances? Not enough. Just like v Cardiff, we did very little in the penalty area. It is all excuses for a mediocre league season.

And 2 wins in 10 is so far from good enough.

Kenny has to take responsibility for leaving the subs so late , Arsenal were awful and like Utd earlier in the season there for the taking. With the amount of space we had I would have brought on Maxi and Bellamy and really stretched them.

Also for those praising Henderson I thought he was shocking offers nothing on the right, Carra is done great servant but think Coates should have started and Reina should of saved the second goal as it was on his near post.

If Commoli and Kenny only think the team needs tweaking they are sorely mistaken we need an attacking creative central midfielder , some wide players and a striker at the least.

Really disappointed after the high of the Cup last week, we can forgot 4th. Another disappointing season, even if we win the FA Cup that is just papering over the cracks as our league form has been awful.

How much money, net wise, have we spent this season? I'd reckon we've not been that reckless (i.e not been that much money spent - when you take into account that we received £50m for Torres etc).
                      Are we winning?

I was very surprised he was dropped but in fairness we played well and moved the ball well and I am not sure that we would've done it better with him in the lineup.

I think Kenny got the team right (given available players) but we were just incapable of converting our chances and I don't think he would have made the difference today.

I've received plenty of texts and messages today about that and it was spam, thank you.

                          I want 2008 back.

Agreed. Been a real shame we haven't had Gerrard available to play with him on a regular basis.

More gauling is the fact that with a pass & move team we had last year, we added players like Carroll, Downing & Adam who don't fit the profile of mobile & clever players.

I actually rate all three players, but I would not have brought them in as they weren't the sort of players we needed.

We had a platform to build and tbh we wasted it by trying to change our style of play.

completely agree with all of this.

Kenny does frustrate me with his lack of urgency regarding making changes. Game was crying out for Bellamy or Maxi but insists with Downing and Henderson on the right!
