Kenny said time and time again that he picks the players that he thinks would be the best for the opponent we are facing even it that means dropping a 35m striker.

I don't blame him for that but I do blame him for buying him in the first place.

To be fair, i thought Kenny got the initial selection wrong and i said as much to you in the buildup thread. Arsenal are clearly **** scared of aerial threat and Carroll HAD to start IMO.

Having selected the XI, Kenny could argue that we bossed them so he wasnt wrong. Perhaps true. But bringing on Carroll and Bellers so late, was never going to really create a significant impact.

I think Kenny made a couple of errors today but even allowing for that, some finishing would've had the game won by HT.

how many on here would take another season similar to this? or how many would take 5th having missed out by a point and getting no trophies? or winning all out home games yet winning none away?

I would given any of the options, I have patience and belief in the boss. Too many on here seem to be so reactionary (unlike out attackers on the field), if we'd played the same and kelly scores, everybody is delighted. we get caught and they score, its knifes out. football is football, you don't always get what you deserve, yet if you keep going, keep doing the right things, you normally gets things turning in your favour. I wouldn't bet against it all clicking next season.

1 million percent agree. Fine margins. Some of the reactions on here are based purely on the result while ignoring how fine the margin between victory and defeat are.

The haste to bury us after a bad result shows up Most of our fanbase to be an utter disgrace & Fully deserving of the 'arrogant' tag I applied to us when discussing just Why we should enjoy our Cup win last week. Kuyt scored a goal from a not dissimilar position against the Mancs in the FA Cup to knock them out only a month or so back - The Same Kuyt who was flagged offside only Moments before Van Persie's winning goal today from a position probably Less offside than Kuyt's fellow Dutchman later scored from.

There is one thing as certain others have said here? There is one thing & one Alone missing from our squad other than maybe backup for Lucas who was sorely missed today That is? Of course an ultra clincal finisher (Huntelaar? Soldado? Jovetic?) - People on here & other forums go on about we don't create enough chances - Horse****e - It was even said in this thread we Only created 3 chances for our main strikers - And? That was Still 1 more than Van Persie got & Took & all season? We've created enough to Bury any team in the league & hardly ever took those chances. Yes Goalscoring midfielders will help but I think the sheer crass stupidity of selling Torres last year & buying one with Potential to replace him at a big club rather than a straight out goalscorer has A) Shown Commolli who pushed for it to be Very stupid & B)? Inhibited Dalglish's selections this season as one of our Most reliable goalscorers in the current squad - Rodriguez? For whatever reason (And I suspect it has a Lot to do with That ****ing price tag of Carroll's - Can't get near the starting 11) as well obviously eventually? C) Badly damaging our goal output.

It's nothing a swallowing of pride & moving on or at least sidelining until he learns his trade of Carroll won't solve but then that? Would require both Comolli & The owners to back down & admit last years splurge was Wrong or ended up having the wrong results Something tells me? That may take a while as they? I too think we need much more than a single striker.
Having more clinical finisher would help but I do think we need to improve in few other areas if we want to take it to the next level. Our midfield is weak (We don't know how Lucas will look like upon his return and Stevie has been battling injuries now quite regularly) and our wide player production is primarily based on 32 year old knee damaged footballer.

We have to buy imo a striker, one wide player, one box-to-box mid and AM.

We both said the same thing in the buildup.

Perhaps he should have brought in Carroll and Bellamy earlier but I don't blame him for anything today.

We cannot expect to win the game when we missed penalty again, hit 2 posts, when Downing overhit the easy pass to Suarez in a great position and when Kelly missed the sitter that was easier to score than to miss.

maybe, don't know, but chelsea's implosion (and arsenal's to some degree) won't be repeated next year. This has been the easiest fourth place race for years and we are 10 points off the very average pace.
