Nope, that is just you jumping to conclusions.Originally posted by Craig_H View Post
Matt needs to analyse it in such a way that it turns out to just be Kenny's fault and his mistakes.

Sorry mate, I disagree and I think that looking at one dimensionally offers little and is misleading.Originally posted by NigelLG View Post
Seriously mate, think there's not that much into it.

1) Probably about 10-15Originally posted by Craig_H View PostMatt, 2 questions mate....
1. How many goals do you think RvP would have scored if he played for us this season?
2. Do you want Kenny gone?
2) No

I think RvP would have 15 at the very least, if not 20 odd. I think, if we hardly ever created anything resembling good chances, then he wouldnt be capable of sitting on that kind of tally.Originally posted by Mattshark View Post1) Probably about 10-15
2) No
Re the 2nd question - you dont want Kenny gone - and he isnt going to change his footballing philosophies - so either you accept him for what he is and how he does things (eg, stop whinging about it every week) - or you decide you cant accept those things and therefore want a different manager.

I'm sick of all this 'conversion rate' bull****; if we did this, did that we'd been amazing ****e.
Fact is, you could dissect most teams and come up with similar stats.
FACT - we are 7th
FACT - we've spent millions on mediocre players
FACT - posts, near misses etc; goals converted is disgusting and embarrassing
FACT - most fans think passing it back and forward nicely means we deserve wins
FACT - we used to be great, now we are average has beens
FACT - Kenny has not taken us much further in bottom line results since Bodge
When are you guys going to remove this ridiculous over-analysis nonsense crap and move out of the 80's.
We are a million miles away from where we should be, Kenny is not the man for the job and we are falling away further from the pack.

I dont think it is the reaction to todays defeat alone Craig. It is primarily a reaction to the fact that we have got 10 points in the last 10 premier league games. Our style of play has not been as impressive as today for a majority of those games also.
I really dont think it is as simple as get a top class striker and we will be alright. We may get 4th with that but I am not sure the current squad is technically equipped and have the mentality to win the league. And I am also not sure if Arsenal and Chelsea are going to struggle like this next season.
We cannot simply state that a top class striker would have converted all of the missed chances and we would be way ahead. There are too many complicated variables and interactions. What if he gets injured.
The midfield plus strikers which started today barely scored 15 goals in the premier league this season. There is no indication for some of them from their history if they will improve upon their goal scoring tally. So why are we surprised that we lost. A top quality striker will help us paper over the cracks.
Also the chance of us signing a top quality striker who goes on to have a season like VP is very very small.
NOTE - The fact that I disagree with Craig, Lecter, DM and some of the positive posts in this thread does not mean I agree with phil neal and others who have compared Kenny with the Bodge.
Kenny is on a different galaxy compared to Bodge with respect to management. Anyone who watches the game and observes our style of play will know that.
I genuinely believe Kenny knows the right style of play , the right balance between attack and defense to win us the league. Some of the football we played end of last season was sublime.I also believe in his man management skills.
However I do not trust his or our entire clubs scouting acumen. We have been profligate in spending and I really don't see the summer signings fitting with Kenny's style of play.

Likewise though, it's not fair to just judge on the last 10 games either. So let's use the whole season.
It's fair to say that, with TWENTY ONE cases of hitting the woodwork and countless missed sitters, the margins between us being where we are now and having another 10-12 points, is really very fine indeed and is perhaps not a million miles more than something a good finisher would bridge.
