Suso: I want a new contract at Liverpool

    Mar 14, 2014 10:27 By Joe Rimmer 0 Comments

Liverpool starlet Suso wants to return to the Reds his loan move to Almeria and praised Brendan Rodgers

Spanish starlet Suso wants to return to Liverpool when his loan spell at Almeria expires - and pen a new long-term deal with the Reds.

The 20-year-old has impressed in his temporary spell in La Liga, scoring two goals and wracking up seven assists but hopes that he can return to Liverpool a better play and build on the 20 appearances he's already made for the Reds.

In the summer Suso wanted to move away from Anfield in order to get games - and he hopes it means he returns properly prepared for Brendan Rodgers' first-team.

He said: " I'm enjoying it a lot. I wanted to play every game this year and get a lot of minutes. Playing in the First Division in Spain is a good experience for me. Next season I'll be a new player.

"At the beginning of the season, before pre-season, I was talking with Brendan and we were thinking that the best option for me was to go to a team on loan for a year, improve and learn from other players.

"I didn't want to stay at Liverpool and be on the bench - I wanted to play every game.

"It's a dream to play at Anfield every weekend and in the Champions League, it's the best option that can happen.

"I would like to sign a new contract with Liverpool and stay there for many years."

Suso also lavished praise on his manager - saying that it was just a matter of time before the Reds reaped the rewards from his reign.

He continued: "For me Brendan is a really good manager, he always treats the players really well. He tries to get the players on the ball all the time. To play football, you have to have control of the ball and Brendan wants that all the time.

"Sooner or later Liverpool were going to be at the top of the league."

Suso made his debut against Manchester United last season and he believes this weekend's match will be an extra-special fixture.

He said: "It'll be a really good game. I made my debut against Man United and it was one of the best experiences I've had in my life. There's only one of these types of games in the world.

"It was a difficult game but the people, the support, was brilliant."

The Spaniard has been watching Liverpool from afar this season and he reserved special praise for his old youth team team-mate, Raheem Sterling.

He said: "Raheem has done really well. He is still very young and he has to improve, as all players have to improve, but he is doing really well - he is scoring goals and giving really good performances. That's important.

"Daniel has been really good. For me, Daniel Sturridge and Suarez up front are the best pair in the Premier League. I watch every game; we keep talking and I keep contact with some of the players as well. We stay in touch"

Good to see he wants to stay with us.

Jack Robinson back in first team for Blackpool, got a yellow already today let's see if he manages to leave it at that.

What's the point of sending Ibe on loan to Birmingham if he's sitting on the bench every game?

To get more minutes than he would at Liverpool? Already played a part in 3 matches more than if he had of stayed. Only been there a month so still early, and lets be honest a lot of loans just dont work out and it is always a gamble.

There is no guarantees that he'd be a regular just because they asked about him and we loaned him to them.

With that said, he already played more for them then he would've played for us if he had stayed.

He needs to impress in training and when he's given chances to play if he wants more playing opportunities.

Wisdom played the whole 90 minutes when Derby thrashed Nott Forest 5-0 today, Mclaughlin and Robinson both starting for Barnsley and Blackpool, Ibe probably on the bench for Birmingham.

Jordon Ibe came on at half time and was booked, both full backs played the whole 90, Robinson managed to help his team to a clean sheet.

That article somewhat overeggs the pudding imo, especially where Assaidi is concerned. I'm not sure I'd describe 14 appearances & 4 goals for Stoke over the whole season (that's only 2 more appearances than he had for us last year) as an "excellent campaign" likely to see him return as a "significantly better player". As far as I've seen he's looked exactly like what he is, a decent technical player with some pace but who is pretty lightweight and obviously not good enough to hold down a starting place at Anfield. Comparing him to Sterling is just silly.

Borini and Suso's loans have been encouraging definitely, especially given their youth, but I don't really expect to see Assaidi in a red shirt (or at least our red shirt) come next September.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                          Mine angry and defrauded young?

Aye, I read it expecting some insight into their development but I got the feeling the author has seen even less of the players that me and I've barely watched a full 90 mins for any of them.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
