Our players out on loan

Isn't he 21 now, if he is struggling in the championship (that said he did ok for Barnsley last year) it looks unlikely that he is going to reach the level we need him to if he is to play for us. If there is something else going on maybe he'll get another season on loan somewhere but you would imagine that would be his last chance. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Just seen Klopp saying no decision will be made on Sturridge's future until the summer. That got me thinking about the players out on loan and who has a future with us and who doesn't
Sturridge - As good a player as he was, he is just way too injury prone, I also don't see him fitting our style of play anymore - I would be amazed if he is still here next year.
Origi - For me this is a difficult one, he hasn't had a great spell out on loan, but he did ok for us last season, really hoped that he would have pushed on this year but it hasn't been the case. That said we are really short of options up front, and he could be an option there that doesn't cost us anything. Ideally we would have 6 players to cover the forward positions, Salah, Firmino, Mane, someone of similar quality who can come in/rotate with them plus a couple of backups I think Ings and Origi would be good options for those roles.
Grujic - Seems to be having a decent loan spell at Cardiff, but I don't see him forcing himself to be involved heavily with us next season. I think the ideal scenario might be for him to stay at Cardiff for another year and get PL experience if they go up.
Markovic - I don't see a future for him, I think he would have been sold last year if there were any takers.
Flanagan - Playing regularly at Bolton now and was getting some praise about a month ago, but Bolton are in trouble at the bottom of the Championship. He looked really promising when he first came into the side, but since the injuries he has looked way off that level. If he comes back he's way down the pecking order, and at his age (25) he really needs first team football, makes sense to move on.
Kent - Looked promising in preseason but has had a couple of difficult loan moves, he isn't going to get time here until he has played regularly elsewhere, could be loaned out again or moved on.
Ojo - Seems to have played a decent number of games for Fulham despite a couple of injuries. Don't see him coming back and playing for us, similar to Grujic, maybe if Fulham go up a loan move playing in the PL would be a smart move to try and increase his value when he does move on, alternatively maybe we could try and use him as a make weight for Sessegnon
Wilson - 7 goals in 12 games for a struggling Hull side makes him look the most impressive of our players out on loan as well as playing and scoring for Wales. Hopefully he can get a loan move to PL club next season and we can get a chance to see what he can do a level up.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Was talking about Origi in the gym yesterday. It's easy to forget how good he was before that Everton injury. Sickening when you think of it, especially as a fully fit Origi could have helped us beat Seville.
That version of Origi would be a great squad player too, capable of filling in for both Mane and Firmino. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Great assistOriginally posted by Fuzzy View PostOrigi played in Wolfsburg's relegaion play-off yesterday, scored and had a beautiful assist.
Clearly a very talented player, hasn't had the best season but Wolfsburg are really **** too. What could have been if that cunt hadn't hacked him in two...

I've said I think Origi could come back and do a job for us. The problem is with his contract unless he signs a new one we either sell now or lose him for nothing in a year. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think we should sell Origi for, for his own sake. There is a player in there, but he's not really suited to our style of play and he needs a good club.
Grujic may get another season with us, Markovic and Mignolet should be sold as should Flanagan and Ojo.
Kent will never make it with us, should be sold as well, maybe he'd like to go with Gerrard.
Wilson needs to be involved in pre-season at least.
Add to this, I wouldn't be surprised if Moreno and Ward wanted to leave.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Some comedy defending there.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think Flannagan, Kent and Markovic have to be sold.
Sturridge probably needs to be sold or loaned somewhere. Players always seem to miraculously get fit in the Brazilian leagues so maybe there (not entirely serious about this but also not completely convinced it wouldn't work). He's not an ideal first choice for us but he would be a great plan B if he wasn't so brittle.
Ward needs to be loaned out.
Everyone else should start preseason and see where they are. I'd trust Klopp to get things right. We need to start developing depth internally and certainly the other players mentioned would be useful (we have little backup for the front three and likely departures and inevitable ageing reducing our midfield options over the summer)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I always think back to that injury on England duty in September 2014, when Hodgson made him train on a recovery day. He hardly played for 18 months after that and was never the same again.Originally posted by brightred View PostIt's sad to see Sturridge struggle like this. He was some player.
It shouldn't have happened, the LFC physios present told him not to train and he should've stood up to Hodgson.

Of the players out on loan, Origi, Sturridge, Markovic, Flanagan and Randall are all out of contract in 2019, for me Origi is the only one you could argue might be worth keeping, the rest we should look to move on while we can get a fee for them.
Kent signed a new contract last summer, but seems to have had a disastrous season on loan. Ojo seems to have decent stats for the games he's played, but you would have liked to have seen him play more. I think these two come down to what Klopp's thoughts of them as a player are rather than what they have done this season. Presumably Kent was rated a year ago so we need to look at what went wrong before making any decision.
Grujic looks to have done ok, but I doubt that he will be able to force his way into what will hopefully be a much strengthened midfield, I wonder if he will spend another season on loan. I wonder if Cardiff would want him for another year?
Wilson has done well and look suited to our style of play, he could be the one who gains most from this season and comes back to be involved.
Although not out on loan this season I think Ward and Solanke should have been as both need football and surely will be considered for this next year if we think Ward has a future if not I wouldn't be surprised if he was sold (but it would probably make more sense to do of the back of a good season on loan somewhere, I really feel that we missed a trick not loaning him back to Huddersfield.Last edited by Exiled_red; 19-05-18, 09:54 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
