Elliott came off the bench for Villa today.

What's the deal with his loan now has something changed?

I’ve seen suggestions the obligation to buy has been taken out which is why he’s getting on the pitch now.

At least it wont be a total waste. Those clauses never seem to work

IMO we should have tried to bring him back, he was a good option from the bench and with our players only being able to last 60-70 mins and a lack of squad options IMO he should have had a role to play. If we aren't getting the £35m then might as well make use of the player IMO

It would be interesting to see how he would go now considering Wirtz plays centrally in that 10 role in some games which you’d think would be a good position for Elliot to play as a backup.

And he could work on the right with Frimpong taking the width and Elliot playing more narrow. He was always willing to put in a shift and track back and press which would also be a bonus.

                  In slow motion though.

But at the point where opposition legs are tired and our players are knackered, surely as an option for the last 20-30 he's better than what we have now (I.e. nothing) gives the opportunity to rest players like Wirtz for 20 mins in most games and keep them out of the red zone OK he wanted more football which is why he moved on loan in the summer, but as things stand he should get more game time here than at Villa and other options are very limited

                        McConnell & Davies recalled

Crawley Town Football Club can confirm that goalkeeper Harvey Davies has been recalled by his parent club Liverpool.

The shot-stopper joined the Reds at the start of the 2025/26 season and went on to feature for the Red Devils on 19 occasions.

Everybody at the club would like to thank Harvey for his contributions to the club during his time at the Broadfield Stadium, and wishes him every success in the future.

Looked like Davies was a starter at Crawley, but that changed in Jan when they signed a permanent new keeper, so we're obviously going to find him another club where he will be first choice again.

Well that’s good news, no point of him just sitting on the bench there. McConnell has been back with us since the start of January but the paperwork has just now been sorted & he’s expected to go out on loan again.

Apparently they didnt come to an agreement.

HE has played seven, so the best he will manage will be two games between now and the end of the season. Utterly pointless him staying there when we have kids on the bench

I wonder if this is because we are rivals for CL spots. They don't want him to come back and strengthen us, and we don't want to strengthen them by removing the obligation to buy or increasing the number of appearances at which it is triggered. Harvey is stuck in the middle just twiddling his thumbs.
