The Bodges greatest trick was convincing the world he was a football manager. Im convinced when he joined his first club he applied for the grounds mans job and just turned up one morning and someone thought he was the manager and he just thought **** it why not. 37 years later
Ha my thoughts exactly! He probably does a bit of groundsman work on the side for extra dosh
Mate of mine has posted the following on my facebook. I've already posted my own reply, but keen to see what others would say
At the risk of inciting a very long debate, what are your thoughts on the fact that Hodgson boasted a higher points per game average at Anfield than Kenny does?
Plus past (in Dalglish's case long past) glories do not guarantee present or future success. Yes he's won things in the past as a manager but he hasn't won anything in over 15 years. (Carling Cup aside and that's the English equivalent of a Tuna chunks trophy in my book)
Brian Clough won the European Cup twice for Forest but eventually (many uears later) Forest had to sack him.
Benitez won us the European Cup, got to another final and won the FA Cup in addition to almost guaranteeing CL football. He finished 7th 1 season and was sacked.
Why should this logic nor apply to Dalglish? If he was a great manager in the past (and I don't think he was but accept I'm in the minority on that one) then it's in the past. We should look to the future now in my opinion.
No one will guarantee success ffs. Changing manager will not necessarily improve things. Think next year we should **** the cups and concentrate in finishing 4th maybe this will make you lot happy.
