Winning FA CUp and Carling cup are what small teams dream of......It should be a welcome distraction to Liverpool FC.

competing for the league and Champions league is what we need to acheive.

1st or nothing belongs in the bygone era.......things have moved on

Would you be happy with 4th every year like arsenal. Or a trophy, like us. Football is about winning stuff. Not being 4th best at something.

When we were in the cl every year, would you swap that for this season

I'd swap anything for this. My point is, I love it when we win things. Not when we nearly do.

I hadn't intended to reply any further on thus thread but WTF "an agenda" Are you Duncan Oldham ffs?

              What "agenda" could I have.

I don't know any one in FSG so I can't ring my mates John and Tom up to remove Dalglish. I'm one person so what effect can anything I say affect anything at the club? I don't run SoS so am not about to lead protest marches so what are you referring to.

You asked for opinions. You don't agree with mine - fair enough but are you really so insecure in your beliefs that you can't stand any disagreement. Yes you have a lot of posts against your name bur that doesn't give you a God given right to always to accurate.

Someone above said about removing Dalglish after 18 months. Benitez was given 1 bad season, Hodgson was given less than that. So either, following the above rationale either Beneitez shouldn't have been sacked (something I don't think he deserved) or Hodgson shouldn't have been sacked ( which I think he should have been)

You say I don't mention Gerrard etc being out. Nor did I mention Kompany, Toure and Toure being out - 2 of City's top players.

I have noticed in previous threads you throw the moniker "agenda" around. It's so risible I can't believe no one has picked you up on it before.

Go on then - outline my "agenda" for me please.

I agree with you but if we were 4th every year and in the CL, it would increase our chances of winning trophies.

The league campaign was our bread and butter; it was that which was being referenced in the "first is first, second is nowhere" adage.

we could and I stress could win 2 of the competitions we've entered this season, got to be happy with two trophies. However it doesn't disguise that the league form has not been good enough since the turn of the year and is something that must be addressed in the summer, where we finish in the league now is irrelevant IMO but we must make sure we are pressing for a top 4 finish all next season as the drop off has been entirely unacceptable in terms of results.

Can we have trophies, leading to challenging for fourth, leading to challenging for trophies *and* a place within the top four?

I can 'stand' as much disagreement as you want to offer, but when someone moves the goalposts to suit their argument (like you did) then it means their viewpoint lacks credibility.

So Chelsea, Stoke and City rested players and missed players - which makes their defeats explainable. But the fact that we've missed Gerrard for much of the season, Lucas for ages, Agger for spells and Suarez for 8 games, doesnt excuse our form?

Laughable really. At least apply the same judgement criteria, in order to maintain some kind of fairness and consistency in your arguments.

And yes, you did mention Kompany being out, by virtue of pointing to Savic playing.

As for comparing Hodgson to Benitez or Dalglish - if you really need to be told why that's laughable, then we're on a hiding to nothing here.

I love us winning things.. However I wouldn't swap being in the cl for the carling cup.

In my mind the carling cup and Europa league are only important if you are in them

So you can't explain what "agenda" you see. Fair enough. Thank you for confirming that.

I didn't mention or imply Kompany being suspended - I said Savic played which he did. He is terrible and wouldn't have played in an important league game)

The reason why I didn't mention Konpany's absence was because he wouldn't have played that night had it been a league game. If you really can't grasp that aspect of the argument then you've got bigger issues than anything can be addressed here.

Similarly, I was not comparing Benitez, Hodgson and Dalglish as managers or their respective records - re read what I said. I was comparing their treatment whilst each was at the club.

You said I was advocating getting rid of Dalglish from the club. Again you misunderstand. I would remove him as manager yes. Keep him at the club - give him his ambassador job back which he was very good at.

                              Can you grasp that?

We deserve more. Finishing has been atrocious and the Suarez saga hasn't helped.
