I'm not sure I believe that rumour specifically but I suspect that Comolli's sacking was related to January and the failure to land players

I think that was straw that broke the camel's back but I think that the "quallity" of our signings since he was put in charge had tons to do with his firing.

As an investor in talent, Comolli was abject. Since that was his primary job, his dismissal makes absolute sense. This is a business. We've sent a ton of money out the door and got minimal return. With a huge window facing us, who among us trusted him to make the rights calls?

comolli deserves a lot of credit for clearing out the deadwood at anfield. lots of **** that was a burden on the club was shown the door and that will help us to no end.

his negotiating skills are crap but theres no doubt he did a. lot of good too.
