A poacher isn't going to solve all our problems. It's just lazy talk and simplistic.

We need players who are going to move into space, take on players, take risks and make clever passes.

Then the team will improve collectively and score more. It's not going to be as simple as saying 'stick Cavani or Falcao in there and we'll be 5th'.

We need three-four tactically intelligent players who are quick, clever in their movement and willing to look forward for the final pass.

True, but it would make a huge difference. IMO if we had someone how could put the ball in the net we'd at least be challenging for a champions league place now.

Finishers are few and far between. Are we talking about a Messi type player? A Ronaldo type of player? A Cavani type of player?

There are variations regarding finishers. This team just lacks the brains and a bit of luck at times. Henderson's shot against the bar for example was plain unlucky, yet it was such a good shot with the way he bent the ball toward goal. That was intelligent play.

That said I'd prefer the opposition to have to work to get their goals rather than just out and out gifting them on a plate

I think myself and Lee are partially responsible. I was just saying how well Johnson was playing and that we look a better team with him in it...

Our not scoring after so many chances really affects everyone though, we start looking nervous and sloppy and the other team begins to sense our fear.

That was the kind of game that happens maybe once a season under normal circumstances. I just can't get my head around how difficult it seems to be to score. If we made our players wear blindfolds we'd probably have a higher conversion rate. Completely unfathomable.

That was woeful. Okay we created chances and should have scored, we were unlucky with Johnson's cock-up, but it just wasn't good enough. Too many players lacking passion today, none of them deserve to be paid after that display. Utter crap.

I think even with someone like Jelavic or even Cisse (Papiss) we'd have won an awful lot of our games this season
