@TonyEvansTimes @DickinsonTimes The only point of amassing cash should be to convert it into silverware.

That's so on the ****ing money.

It's not monopoly, it's football. Generate cash to win trophies. We're winning trophies. We're not where we need to be, but we're doing what the vast majority of other clubs would give their right arm for.

      * I nearly said 36 years worth of experience but I would have sounded too much like Roy

We'd probably be in the bottom 6 without him.

It is amazing how people have ignored the chances he created today and how all our good play revolved around him and his use of the ball.

The league campaign has been a real letdown, but in the Cups we've been practically perfect. If we beat Chelsea, we'll have been perfect in the Cups.

How could two cups in one season not be a sign of success?

This thing about 'unless it's the PL or the CL it's not worth it' - ****ing really???

How spoilt does that sound?? And before this season, we hadnt been spoilt with trophies for more than half a decade.

Completely cant get my head around it.
This poll seems quite interesting now.

            Modifying post.

We're not in freefall, but we are deteriorating as a side. We are now firmly established as a midtable club. Any team can win a trophy, but we should be competing for the league. It was important to win the League Cup and it would be fantastic if we won the FA Cup, but our league form has been abysmal and at the very least we should be consistently achieving top four.

From what i have seen, when he plays for Uruguay he isnt like that......get a few top class intelligent mobile players around him and watch him shine.

I hope to god we dont become a selling club having to selling one of our best players to make the squad better. Oh and i think we would need a 50+ goals a season striker to carry this team

Why? If Suarez wasn't on the field someone else would be. He's scored 8 goals, that's poor for a striker. He's had problems this year, but Suarez is too greedy. If he passed the ball more then we'd probably be in the top 6.

He created plenty for others today, his pass made our best chance in fact (Kuyt's). Sorry but the blaming of Suarez is silly.

I dont agree, but if you think that it's entirely your perogative. Just dont get why you say otherwise.
I honestly dont know what I would do with Suarez in all honesty

I have reservations about him for sure but would that be enough to want me to offload him

I suppose it would depend on the money

I certainly wouldnt rule it in or out either way money would talk for me

Hyperbole. I am pretty sure when the odds come out next season we will be one of the favourites for CL footie again.

I think we would need a few more seasons this bad to be estyablished mid table fodder, I firmly believe with a bit of tinkering and a couple of additions no reason why we cant push on for champions league footy next year.

We all make our own opinions. I think he's a terrific footballer, but I'm getting tired of seeing him miss spectacular efforts when a simpler alternative is available. If he was scoring lots of goals then I would have no complaint.

Without doubt i'd swap the cups for 4th place - but only because 4th place brings you the money which should lead to trophies on a consistent basis and trophies equate to success. But you see there, the common denominator there is trophies.

In no way is our league position acceptable but likewise, in no way can winning trophies be deemable as unsuccessful.

I think a half decent goalscorer could get 25-30 goals in this team we create so many chances

Seriously Rush would have scored hatfuls in this side

We're not a side that is dripping with creativity. Take Suarez out and you're talking drought.
