Seems that they are overdoing things.

To get someone like Guardiola you have to make him feel special, that he’s the only one you’re interested in. If he knows he’s just one of 12 being interviewed I don’t even think he’d bother turning up.

I can't believe we're going about it this way.

Only explanation is, they don't want to be rejected by the likes of Klopp and make Martinez feel like a fall back option.. The whole thing is a **** up from the outside looking in.

Alternatively, the owners know little about English football culture and croneyism. They've already been bitten once and want to weed out potential car-crashes earlier in the process. Nothing like a good old fashioned interview to get people sweating.

Those that go prepared for the 'challenge' usually succeed, and are generally successful. Those that go with a big head are quickly found out.
