I've always wondered about this.

Why would David Dein and others who do not have the club at heart give the best possible advice especially when they are partial to another club?

Mainly because unless you broke it up sold all the assets its a company that would be cash hungry for a few years

Yes but thats what they did, assess the assests & looked at what can be achieved ( Real, Barc, Manc sponsorship, corporate, etc) they knew they could not lose.

I am not against FSG, but they knew a good investment, even with the money on top of the purchase cost they would need to fork out.

These are hard nosed businessmen, but they know that 200 mill for a global, PROFITABLE (without massive interest charges) was a great 5 year investment, maybe even 10year.
