Yes but thats what they did, assess the assests & looked at what can be achieved ( Real, Barc, Manc sponsorship, corporate, etc) they knew they could not lose.

I am not against FSG, but they knew a good investment, even with the money on top of the purchase cost they would need to fork out.

These are hard nosed businessmen, but they know that 200 mill for a global, PROFITABLE (without massive interest charges) was a great 5 year investment, maybe even 10year.

I hardly think that in his new role he'll be logging busting out the rumours on Twitter though. Self publicising is the name of the game in the journo world and it'll be his other skillset (I.e. the one that doesn't involve guessing our transfer targets) that matters most.

So frankly his Twitter personality is really a moot point. That said, if they were going to give the job to someone in the social media world it should really have been Jenkins. At least he gets the team right every now and then.
