Agree with this. The fact is, we lost a PR battle; it has no bearing on the facts of Suarez's case or the fact that none of us believe, to this day, that he was guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra. The level of absurdity of the FA making THIS a multi-match ban and the press piling on is beyond my comprehension.

I will say, I was proud to see the club stand behind Suarez on this. It was like a Kafka novel, watching that farce. So, for me, everyone who says that Suarez sullied the club and Kenny made the club look bad because of that, I say bull****. It was pure football tribalism to kick Liverpool when they are down; the lack of intellectual honesty in the Suarez affair is staggering. So, for me, I could give a **** what a journalist or some old titled prick at the FA has to say about Suarez or how the club handled it.

That said, we lost that battle because we could not mount a reasonable narrative and defense of Suarez in this situation. It was a statement of support of the player, not a validation of the supposed "crime". But our narrative was much muddier than the other side shouting "RACIST!", so we lost. All it has done for me is inspire more distrust of the FA and the press. I never felt "let down" by Kenny or LFC during the whole thing and I still do not. I think we should get over that as a part of this story; to claim the club leadership let Kenny down is to validate the other side which is just not true in my mind.

Still, history will be written by the winners... but i know better.

Just try to remember that ultimately every Liverpool fan does actually want the same thing.
        Well put.

True, but its also worth remembering that most fans aren't as emotionally engaged with the club most of us. They have opinions, don't disect and argue them more than a superficial chat over a pint and take a more passive 'wait and see what happens' approach. The performance of our MD etc doesn't enter the heads of most fans very often.

We are here so often because we care so much, which is presumably why we argue so much.

Gutted if Klopp isn't interested. For me its vital that we get a young manager who is aggressive and not intimidated by the old heads in english football. Someone who is afraid of no-one and willing to attack and beat the top teams.

I like Martinez for this reason. He's got the right mentality and he is capable of getting **** players playing well and beating teams they would otherwise not have the belief to beat. He is passionate and lively and I actually think he could be great for us. People will have such low expectations and he will put aggression into the team

I agree with this in part but there is a difference between being emotionally engaged and being informed (I dont mean inside info by this)

There is a lot of information on forums to dissect and the more varied articles you read the more broad your knowledge will be

Some of the lads in pubs are equally as emotionally engaged but less well read

well said. It was an impossible battle to win, but we know Suarez was ****ed over good and proper by the FA.
