fwiw, lec, i don't have a problem with justified criticism, i just don't like the owners being portrayed as clueless cunty yokels who aren't trying their best. i think we all know they have some things to learn.

Nope, totally valid points. There have to be question marks over Pep. But then installing a new manager is always a gamble isn't it. That's why I want Benitez to get the job. He's proven he can do it. He's a known quantity - we can't say that about any of the others. He's the lowest gamble. In fact, I don't think he would be a gamble at all. Give him time, a modest budget and he'll take us forwards.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostJust a couple of points really.. 1. How stupid would this all look if they pulled something like that off and 2. Is it just me that would still have reservations even about Pep? I mean he's only ever managed possibly the greatest ever side in football.. Backed up with one of the best ever youth systems and sides.
**** I think this has broken me! I can't be pleased

Even on the outside looking in your exaggerating things so much.Originally posted by MrNice View PostSo Martinez has nothing to do with the style of football Swansea are playing right now... is that what you are saying or hes a **** manager because he has kept Wigan in a ever increasingly competitive Premier Lg ... just so we are clear please let me know what exatcly we can chew the fat on because i very much would like to put your I have forgotten more than you ever will know line .... which is a line I use a lot you ballbag ... beat me to it ... too the test

I didn't read him say Swansea's style isn't down to Martinez.. But that doesn't mean their success is, surely that's a valid point.
The point about finishing bellow Bruce, yes with time they've lost players and he's still managed to keep them in the league.. But its not a false statement to say, Martinez has finished lower than Bruce did.Vive la France

Liverpool FC looks the perfect place for that

Agreed with your post about harping on about us being a 'franchise'. Makes me cringe to see the owners crassly referred to as 'the Americans' as well. I'm pretty sure it's only a small number of people who happen to be American that own us, rather than the nation itself...Like blood on iron

Wigan have fallen down the league under Martinez, if you are citing an ever increasing competitive Premier League then shouldnt that have been taken into consideration for Kenny also?
Rodgers was highly thought of when he was at Chelsea and was seen as someone who was instigating progressive and attractive football in their youth or reserve levels (I cant remember which one it was). If you knew anything about football you'd know that
Pardon my manners but I cant dance these days, old football injury that finished me up sadly

I disagree. It won't necessarily mean that. It'll mean that they didn't appoint the right person to replace him.Originally posted by Lecter View PostIt will only prove the right decision if the subsequent appointment is better
If it isnt then the decision was sa mistake
I remember being on here when Rafa left and some people thought it was the right decision then
They didnt think that a few weeks later

I still don't understand why someone currently managing a "lesser" club cannot be successful managing a bigger club. It could be equally argued that someone managing a more successful club could be a disaster with a team comprising fewer superstars. I think we just need to find someone who fits our club. It seems odd given Dalglish lives and breathes LFC, but this time around it just didn't work. I would rather entrust an intelligent young manager with enthusiasm and something to prove than someone who believes that their CV entitles them to patience in spite of them being **** like the scenario when Hodgson was in charge.

Fair enough, I did not say Rogers has not done a wonderful job but Martnez has to take some credit and many people within the game recognize that. I am not on the Martinez bus by any stretch but equally he deserves a look at, and I personally do not subscribe to this oh he's only the Wigan manager ... We are too big for him, but he that's me, it's my opinion, one which t seems obvious the owners shareOriginally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostEven on the outside looking in your exaggerating things so much.

Disagree because you dont sack someone unless you have someone better lined upOriginally posted by kris90210 View PostI disagree. It won't necessarily mean that. It'll mean that they didn't appoint the right person to replace him.

AVB is a young hungry coach who I personally rate higher than Martinez.. Its about the person themselves, CV obviously should be taken into account but it shouldn't be the deciding factor.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI still don't understand why someone currently managing a "lesser" club cannot be successful managing a bigger club.
