I'm in two minds about Villas Boas. On the one hand he did a remarkable job with Porto (but then it was Porto...). Also, you only have to do some reading to know that he knows his ****. He's young, talented and likes good football. BUT he ****ed up at Chelsea. I don't really buy the whole thing about it being all the players fault. He does come across as a bit of a cunt - he did with the media, and the whole thing about getting the players to celebrate with him was just cringeworthy. I'd hate to see us appoint him only to look back in 12 months time saying we made a mistake and the warning signs were there.

Thats the problem with a lot of candidates, they dont stand out for me.

The bulk of them have faults and major reasons why you would consider not appointing them

Its weird because I have heard opposite. Mate of mine is a community coach for Chelsea and he said whenever he was about he was a really nice guy. He even said from time to time he would join in the session for 5 minutes when he did them at Cobham.

Horses for courses I suppose.

Surly they will be moving rapidly to have someone in place early on this week as the new manager is going to need all the time he can get to settle in and bring in targets, I'd be surprised if it was later than Thursday tbh
