      **** source but

      Ian Abrahams þ@Moose_talkSPORT

Just had a very interesting conversation with a journo I've known since the 06 World Cup in Germany, who has suggested Dortmund manager Klopp

      Ian Abrahams þ@Moose_talkSPORT

Could be the shock appointment as the next Liverpool manager. I know he's just won the double in Germany, but am looking into it - I wonder

      Ian Abrahams þ@Moose_talkSPORT

if Liverpool's owners could've duped us all into thinking it was Martinez, AVB, Lambert, Rodgers when their number 1 target was in Germany?

Please god, let it be true. My number one choice and was really down when he ruled himself out, perhaps he did this to buy time for proper discussions.

one problem i have with LGV is does he want to stay a DoF or will he actually eventually kick the manager out and do the job himself?

no real issue with LVG being manager I just wouldnt want that upheaval

Klopp would be the dream, but he's halfway through a similar project with Dortmund, can't see him abandoning that to start all over again.

Isn't Klopp properly mental? His interviews would be compulsive viewing.

It would have to take someone like Klopp to get everything looking forward to the future, but I can't see it.

They've just won the Bundesliga and are in the Champions League with a settled squad. They've not been brilliant in Europe under him, but they've gelled and he may want a crack at that.

Jeees don't you know anything. ( I was just about to ask the same question)
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

But we weren't a bigger club, in the sense of challenging for top honours, when Shankly took over. Jock Stein and Fergie had substantial successes, Wenger won the league in France. The exceptions are almost as numerous as the number of those following the rule in your list.

I'm not completely against your point that managers have to start somewhere and the likes of Guardiola and de Boer have shown that a lack of experience is not always a bar to great success. However I don't think you list anyone who was put in the position of absolutely having to succeed instantly, which is pretty much what we will be asking whoever comes in.
