Rafa has 100% not spoken to FSG. As happened last week there is a slight hope/expectency that they might bypass Ayre and approach
        Wayne Gordon ‏@Gunga__Din
@pauledwards1973 he 100% has now. They have been in touch. not saying he will get the job, but FSG have spoken with him in last 24 hrs

@Gunga__Din rafa must be telling lies to his friends, family and colleagues then. Not saying it won't happen but no direct contact at all

            Chang confirmed

Liverpool FC today announced that Jen Chang will take up the position as the Club's Corporate Relations and Communications Director.

He will take up his new position on Monday 11th June 2012 and will be based in Liverpool.

Chang joins Liverpool from Sports Illustrated where he was the Senior Editor for football-related content at SI.com in New York. Previously at ESPN, he was responsible for the day to day content and strategic direction of ESPN.com's football section. Prior to working in media, Chang also had extensive experience in the finance sector working for investment banking and private equity firms.

Jen grew up in England and attended the University of London (Queen Mary). He also has graduate degrees from both Cambridge University (Queens' College) and the London School of Economics.

Ian Ayre, Managing Director said: "Jen brings a depth and range of valuable international communications experience gained over the past 15 years and we are delighted to welcome him to Liverpool. Jen will join the Club's Executive Management Team and play a key role in supporting Liverpool as we optimize the LFC brand on a global scale."

Jen Chang added: "I'm privileged to be offered the opportunity to join the Communications Department at LFC, a Club with an unparalleled tradition and heritage. I've been impressed by the vision outlined by the Fenway Sports Group and am honoured to be part of the process as the Club moves forward."

like i said previously, i believe the most important aspect of our hunt for a new manager is the position of DoF. with rafa, LVG or tixi as DoF for the experience, management strategy, sourcing and tapping up transfer targets, assessment of opposition teams, etc, we could then quite easily use someone like martinez as the head trainer/coach. martinez like as fast moving, attacking game, is calm with the press, can influence play from the side of the pitch, will make a substitution when it will still matter [unlike ged, rafa or kenny] and under guidance can go on to become our future leader.

              maybe, no?

So the commercial and communications director positions have been filled. Looks like FSG is starting to put their plans in place, I would imagine DOF should be next.

                  Surprise surprise.

I am amazed at Gunga Din's reputation.
                  Oh I don't know.

A club Doctor or something? Or would that be the remit of the Manager/DOF?

I'm not sure, but I would think a player would care far more about the manager and his staff that he would be working with daily than the DoF.
