PR machine has started. Martinez it is then.Originally posted by BrooklynRed View Post@LFCtransfernews: Steven Gerrard: "If Roberto Martinez gets the Liverpool job he'll have my full support"."
I always had an inkling that he would manage us one day, just genuinely did not expect it to be so soon and in such circumstances."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

it wouldnt surprise me if the likes of skrtel, agger and reina left the club with kuyt, maxi and probably carra.Originally posted by cannotmakeit View PostI wouldn't be surprise if some of our current lot start looking for an exit. After seeing the ambition from the club.
We could get in close to 50m for that lot and start again but its a hell of a lot of talent to lose for a club 'supposedly' looking to get back into the top four.
Alternatively, they might hear what he's got to say and then decide what they want to do. Top pros when going into training under a new manager can probably suss out pretty quickly the abilities of a manager by his training methods.
My guess is that within a week of everyone coming back, reina and co will know exactly where they want to be.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Its not hindsight, many people predicted Hodgson was going to fail, like many are about Martinez, they'll still support them but when it goes tits up you can't say ah hindsight, like **** the majority said wtf are we doing.Originally posted by Chrono View PostSo you are saying we shouldn't give him a chance and it was stupid to back Hodgson? Hindsight is a brilliant thing.Vive la France

I don't think any club would be willing to buy Steven Gerrard 2012 edition anyway, certainly not for the wages he is on.
He will 'support' any manager that comes in.
Club captain Gerrard believes Hodgson's extensive experience in Europe make him the "right man for Liverpool".
"I think it's been worth the wait and I'm sure he's just keen now to get on with it and start to quickly put in place his plans for the new season," said the 30-year-old.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

their keeper has been better than reina for at least 12 months, good left back, centre back, central midfielder and wideman.Originally posted by Tee View PostJames McCarthy aside, I hope he does not go back to Wigan to 'improve' our squad.

Whelan is almost doing a second hand car pitch with Martinez here. You know the sort of stuff they do with old duffers that have no clutch and sand in the tank 'well, mate. I don't really want to sell it but because its you you can have it for xxxx' type stuff.
Its getting so obvious that I'm starting to think that there is something wrong with Martinez that no-ones sharing, like he's some sort of deviant or has sand in the glovebox.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

You mean our best players that have any value.. FSG had a chance to really show us how ambitions they were, even if they tried and failed with big names, spoke to Rafa, listened to a man that is a proven winners ideas.. Its not good business to ignore a candidate that is better than 2 of the people you've approached.Originally posted by Rich View PostPossibly - the English lot would stick around IMO. But perhaps Agger, Skrtel, and Reina might start to look elsewhere. Even Suarez if he doesn't think the club can match his ambitions.Vive la France

they want a young manager who has very little input on transfers, that would rule out rafa no?Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostIts not good business to ignore a candidate that is better than 2 of the people you've approached.Always borrow money from a pessimist. Nobody knew he was going to be such a monumental **** up even if most were concerned. Backing Roy was the right thing to do as would backing Martinez although in no way am I drawing a comparison between them.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostIts not hindsight, many people predicted Hodgson was going to fail, like many are about Martinez, they'll still support them but when it goes tits up you can't say ah hindsight, like **** the majority said wtf are we doing.

If we only get £50m for that lot after spending 55 on Downing and Carroll we'll be more of a laughing stock.. If this doesn't work out, FSG will start feeling major pressure from fans IMOOriginally posted by el matador View Postit wouldnt surprise me if the likes of skrtel, agger and reina left the club with kuyt, maxi and probably carra.
