but dont you think the DoF will be high profile enough to be plausible enough to tap up potential targets...

    even craig would know that...

Well, the last time I have checked, people were supposed to express their own opinions in the debates on internet forums ... Has something changed in recent times?

        Lets see ...

        May 18 2012

Director of football Damien Comolli, who was dismissed last month, won’t be directly replaced. FSG have come to the conclusion that his job, overseeing travel, medical care, scouting, player analysis and recruitment, was too wide-ranging. Instead those duties will be spread out and a number of new roles created.

Internal candidates are also being considered and could lead to more senior positions for highly-respected Academy duo Pep Segura and Rodolfo Borrell.

“The idea is rather than one person being responsible for all the elements Damien’s role took on, we will divide up the responsibilities,” Ayre said. “We will have a slightly different structure so there will be two or three positions within that. Running a big football club is a big challenge. It’s evident we need to focus on each area with a specialist who will deliver value in each area.”

A high profile candidate accepting a job with heavily reduced competences? I don't think so ...

I think we'll probably hire a much more high profile DoF to entice bigger names. Otherbig clubs like Milan,Inter and even Barca take a punt on relatively non-descript names ie not superstar managers. Not an issue IMO.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I respect your opinion, but two posts above I have posted a recent quote from the only senior executive at our club where he says that a high profile DoF will not be employed by LFC ... Maybe he is lying, but I see no reason for doing that ...

                    whoever we end up with - to be honest after watching this merrygoround for the last week or so-I'm past caring who- all I care about is;
                    a) can he motivate our players
                    b) can he make us play the attractive skillful football reds supporters traditionally expect
                    c) can we start winning more
                    d) and can we bring in decent players who'll improve the team

Dave, with the regularity that it is called into service i would suggest saving it to your desktop

I agree that he is talented, but I can't see him getting us anywhere near the top 4, at least not at this stage of his career ... Since we don't have the Champions League football to offer, and we are not offering big wages (Suarez is the highest paid player signed by FSG, at £80,000 per week) we would have a serious problem to attract top talent with such a low profile manager ... Sorry to say, but FSG are getting this terribly wrong, and there is no-one competent at the club to correct this massive mistake ...
I don't think realistically we are going to finish top four for a couple of years although I obviously hope we do so it is right to bring in a young ambitious talented manager to mould his own team for the long term rather than someone who is expected to get us in top four straight away and then have people calling for his head 18 months down the line 'if Kenny got sacked for it why shouldn't he', also who else is in the 'young talented ' bracket who would leave there current club or want to come to a club not in the champions league with huge expectations, I've tried to view it from the outside as a manager
                        RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

I'd be happy with either Martinez or Rodgers working alongside a high profile/experienced DoF. It's nice to see the mood is lifting a little on here today!

Swansea like to pass the ball.

The interesting part is how he breaks the pitch in to zones and the flexibility in the formation. Maybe just read the middle bit after the pretty picture in the middle.
