I remember ealier in this thread a number of posters were confidently claiming it would be Rodgers or that he was no.1 choice.

This at the time he was said to have turned us down and Martinez / AVB were the main candidates in the press / online.

Can these posters add why they were so confident it would be Rodgers? The thread is too big to go trawling back through it now.

Roman and FSG have different levels of ambition ... Roman is not appointing a new manager since he is hoping to persuade Guardiola to take over ... His fallback option is Capello ...

This is a welcome thread pal.
Hope it does not end up being like the welcome thread for Downing

Good to see everyone getting behind the new man.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Not exactly ecstatic but then again can't pretend I've watched a huge amount of Swansea with him in charge - although they are clearly capable of playing some decent stuff.

To have any chance of success he will have to get to grips with the size of the club; something that some of our signings have failed to do in recent years IMO.

People are entitled to be worried ...

We have just replaced a manager who has won 4 league titles with a manager who was sacked by Reading less than 3 years ago ...

I'll support Rodgers and will back him

That said I'm not over enamoured with the appointment

Still on the plus side at least he isnt Roy Hodgson

That is a major plus point
