I'm looking forward to it. We might have struck gold, we might have risked loads and it could pay off - on the other hand, it might end up going tits up...

One thing is for sure though, if Rogers is ****, FSG won't hang around, they'll get rid of him. If we end up with a free flowing, attacking team who end up destroying teams and its exciting - we will love this next year.

He seems to have a philosophy. I can't wait to see who we're going to sign to make us play exciting football. It might just be what we (the fanzzz) need

clarke must be super excited to finally be working under the guy who coached the youth teams when he was assistant manager there.

That board never did anything good. *******s, they outmanouevred Hicks and Gillett.

I think they were wrong to sack Rafa but may be they had little choice. Although I suppose, if the owners were insisting on it, they could have resigned in protest, so allowing Hicks and Gillett to replace them with the likes of Tom Hicks Jnr, so meaning that the club went into administra...

And, at the risk of going over well-trodden ground, the people who definitely did have a choice about Rafa and could have supported him were the fans. The fact so many didn't was definitely a massive mistake. The board's actions, nah, who knows. Overall they achieved more than they ****ed up.

              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

                Brendan Rodgers factfile

He was raised in Carnlough where he spent much of his youth playing Gaelic football and hurling

As a young coach, he travelled around Europe and now speaks Spanish and Italian

His son Anton plays for Chelsea's youth team and has represented the Republic of Ireland at U-17 level

                His nickname is Buck
                Jose Mourinho on Rodgers
"I like everything in him. He is ambitious and does not see football very differently from myself. He is open, likes to learn and likes to communicate"

Former England striker Gary Lineker, tweeted:* "I feel this could be a very shrewd appointment. Totally gets the way the game's evolving."

The more I read about Buck and his football philosophies, the more I like and I'm now starting to get excited about this appointment.

Lifted from elsewhere, but this is basically what I think also, I think:

I guess its no more a gamble than Valencia appointing Rafa, Dortmund appointing Klopp or even us appointing Kenny in '85. Though there is a little voice in my head that says 'why couldn't another club take the chance on a promising young manager?' I'd have to say I'm cautiously optimistic. Only hindsight will tell but for now, I'm prepared to get fully behind Rodgers.

On another note, will FSG get the credit for giving a young talented manager a chance or will Dave 'the gob of golbourne' whelan's running his mouth off at every opportunity be interpreted by the wapping ******s as 'bloody foreigners making a mess of the whole thing'? (obviously, the opinion of Mark 'the oracle' Lawrensen don't count.)
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Familiar repetitive condescending argumentative comments. Seems a bit sad having alternative accounts in anticipation of getting banned.

If he says enough, he figures someone at some point will agree with him...

Steve clarke is assistant manager for one very simple reason. He doesnt have the balls to take the top spot and all the responsibility that comes with that.

If hes clued up he will have seen rodgers talent at an early stage. I think they will work well together.
