Controversially, I find myself agreeing with AA.

I don't start to panic everytime Warnock gets close to the ball in our own half.

Warnock was terrible last night. Always seemed to be out of position. Larsson skinned him on several occasions. Passing was terrible. His lack of pace makes him a liability.
              That's the one...

I'm no fan of Warnock, but to say Djimi Traore was a better left back is just ridiculous. Traore was utter ****e and couldn't pass a ball from 3 yards. Essentially, I think the fact Warnock is still here and Djimi isn't speaks volumes

Or it could mean that someone wanted Traore whereas no one wants Warnock.

Blackburn wanted him in part exchange for Lucas Neill, and, according to Rafa himself, the only reason the deal didn't go through was because he rated Warnock too much to let him leave

Didn't Blackburn want to pay 3-4 million quid for Djimi about 3 years ago?

5 years ago they made a 2.5m (?) bid for him that was rejected by Houllier. Lucky escape. Ultimately, the only factor to consider is who Benitez thought would be more useful to the club. Clearly he thought Warnock was the better option as he chose to keep him where he got rid of Traore

Nick, we could go round in circles here but correct me if I'm wrong, didn't Traore start more games under Rafa than Warnock? I'm pretty sure he did.

Both around 40 apps each under Rafa wiki reckons, so about the same. Just think in general it's a case of short-term memory with Traore; now that he's gone people only remember the good stuff (Cup Final) and not that fear being struck into your heart when you heard his name come out over the tannoy. He was abysmal and I think most people rate Warnock over Djimi any day

Well I don't. Warnock is a sh!te footballer and I can't believe he's still at the club. If he leaves for more than a couple of million quid I'll be shocked.

Defensively Traore is better than Warnock, buT Warnock can gt a cross in, something Traore couldn't do.

In pretty much all the tight games we played under Rafa (CL games and Chelsea games) in teh first two years, it was Traore, rather than Warnocj or even riise that played at LB.
