Yeah I don't really like the robbing Peter to pay Paul patch up jobs of moving Fabinho to cover at CB. Without him in there we are likely looking at a 3 of Milner Henderson and Wijnaldum which doesn't work. Keita is still struggling to adapt and Lallana isn't good enough. It feels like we are in a tough spot at the moment. Actually hopefully we can go Henderson, Wijnaldum Shaqiri in midfield.

No cover at CB limited midfield options and only Sturridge and Origi as cover up front. It feels like we need to sign someone in the window again.

Its paper thin and if we have any the A team out we might see our challenge stutter and stall.
Its no good saying we have the cover, but too often much of that cover is unreliable due to fitness or durability issues, or the ones that are fit and available are a massve drop in standard.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Squad looks decent on paper but out defenders are dropping like flies we are having to patch up CB with midfielders, Moreno is a liability, Keita hasn't settled, Milner has been rushed back , Lallana doesn't suit us any more. Sturridge only really works against tired defences and Origi is something of an enigma.
On the pitch the squad doesn't look great

We have fixed our defence and keeper issues, our attack has stuttered but prevailed, but our poor midfield has been where we have lost out...
Fabinho has been great and now first choice midfielder but henderson, milner and Wijnaldum have been poor overall.
They have the odd good game, and a few average games, but are often invisible and contribute little in the way of assists and goals.
How many of them would get in citys team? We need to be reaching above "ok" and now need to restore some serious power and attacking threat from midfield.

When we have a coule of key players out our so called strength in depth goes to **** very quickly...
Playing gomez at right back showed our attacking limitations, likewise milner at left back.
It was thought that VVD plus any one other would be adequate and for a time lovren did a job but after having matip alongside virgil it was a couple of levels better.
When lovren come back in it was like he has never played football before and hes reverted to his former ****ness.
Klopp deciding to play sturridge v barca wasnt his best "moment" and again shows we lack serious options, and that really isnt origi.

It’s crazy that while most will tend to agree about our midfield, it has got us an incredible 94 points so far and to another CL semi.

I really feel we need our own Bernardo Or David Silva type player, someone who is cute in possession and can carve out clever passes to the forwards whilst fitting into a mobile fluid midfield. Thought that would be Fekir but will be interesting to see what we do this summer.

Yep. Show me a game where we have played **** and lost. We even created chances when we drew but it was in the small period where Salah stopped scoring.

We do need a couple of better options in attack, but other than that I don’t see what more we can do.

Milner has been far from poor Baitman, sounds like you're trying to feel better about losing out on the league.

Im not saying milner has been poor, he has had great moments, but the return from our midfield is ****e.

You literally said he's been poor in midfield.

He's put away crucial penalties, won possession, used is experience and set the tempo.

He was being singled out as a potential player of the season at one point.

                          Epl...
                          Henderson, 1 goal, 3 asssts.
                          Wijnaldum, 3 goals, 0 assists.
                          Milner, 5 goals, 5 assists.

Stats from trannymarket so not sure how accurate but its depressing reading.

Also your signature sounds a bit off considering we're on 94 points and the semi-final of the CL.

I think it is unfair to say that they have been poor, from a defensive point of view they have been good and their pressing and winning back possession has been fairly good too. I would agree that creatively they have been lacking and as you say the number of goals and assists bares that out. Presumably we had been hoping Keita would provide that but it took most of the season for him to settle. The problem for me has been consistency, Wijnaldum had a good start to the season then faded a bit, Fabinho has been good since he settled but Henderson and Milner have had some games where they have been excellent and so where they haven't do so much

It will be interesting to see what Klopp does with the midfield. This year we have had 3 from the 4 of Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson and Milner. Next year we could have Fabinho, Ox and Keita which you imagine could have a very different feel to it
