Much like expecting Kuyt to replicate his Feyenoord stats didn't work out.

He was wasteful all last season and has begun this one in the same vein.

He doesn't play CF for his country and he shouldn't for us. He's at his best on either side of a front 3, not as the main man. We just need to find the main man to play him off

It went against us today and there will be days like that. Everything at could have gone against us, went against us
I can have no complaints, we didn't have the rub of the green
We lost the game and that hurts as a supporter, and we will have games like that. We have to use that as a lever to move forward
Could of been Kenny from last year

Rodgers: "I can have no complaints, we didn't have the rub of the green." - oh good another manager bemoaning luck, I think there was a bit more to it mate.

Lucas booked for holding someone yet 3/4 times in the first half alone the where swiping players legs who where running at the back 4.
None of their players were booked, despite their players probably doing the worst challenges, we were **** today but the ref was also poor and give us nothing.

I thought the red card for Agger was harsh but I suppose under the letter of the law you can't really argue, but I think that rule needs looking at. I think that the West Brom players certainly made the most of the contact for both pens, but I suspect if that had been Suarez the outcome might have been different particularly for the second.

I don't want to focus on the ref though as we were poor today, there is no hiding from that, there were promising signs though, things only really fell apart after the sending off, they were ahead by a goal that we could do nothing about. The issue for me is were the goals will come from, I still have the feeling I had most of last season that we aren't going to score goals, Suarez should have had at least a couple today.

Much like expecting Van Nistelrooy to replicate his PSV stats when he moved to the EPL... oh that's right he did!

And where did we play the forward? Oh yeah, on the right...

Hm I personally didn't think it was all down to luck, there was some pretty anonymous players and a lack of class up front.

For every Van Nistelrooy there's an alfonso Alves, Dirk Kuyt, Kezman etc. And Kuyt only got moved to right after proving not up to the job as the main striker so we finally bought one who did, but then that doesn't suit your argument so ignore it.

You can argue all your want the facts are unavoidable, his return for LFC compared to the chances he's had is very average, bordering on poor. Yes he does it everywhere else but that doesn't help us does it.

EDIT:- Van Nistelrooy is a different type of forward anyway. He's a finisher, waits in the box and supplies the finish. Suarez is a creator and we are asking him to create and finish and he can't do it . He's our only goal threat, not the case with Ajax and Uruguay, hence the problem

He's not going to publicly attack his players after one game.

Just the generic stuff, bit of bad luck, harsh penos etc........what you would expect most managers in the same position to say really.

Never tells the full story of course, but anyone who watched the game can draw their own conclusions.
We were beaten by the better side on the day, they wanted it more, no problem with either peno, they reacted far better to the flow of the game etc etc
Brendan ain't gonna slag us off too much in public.
