I haven't read through this thread, but I suppose one positive we can take from this result is that Rogers and the owners now know that they need to buy a proper striker at the very least. We need to buy quality otherwise we will struggle again this season.

You can argue all your want the facts are unavoidable, his return for LFC compared to the chances he's had is very average, bordering on poor. Yes he does it everywhere else but that doesn't help us does it.
Ok, so this may shock you as it doesn't happen much on here but you are right, for every one that does transfer their scoring record from one league to another there is one who doesn't.

You could also argue that the players you mention are only there for your argument.

The thing is, I started talking about Suarez because he seemed untouchable on here and only Misters Downing and Adam were allowed to be called for for their performances where as I was suggesting that Suarez's misses were just as bad if not worse than some other players performances. Then all the defending 'he's not a natural goalscorer' statements came out and all I was suggesting is that he can score goals, regularly. It's pretty damn obvious he hasn't transferred that to here, yet (and I guess he might never do so) but I can't help how things are read now, can I?

And as for Kuyt, was he really given a fair opportunity at playing in the position he had impressed in and the reason he was bought or was he just moved into a different position by the manager like what happens to so many other players

This is an important gem info. First games are always ****. Arsenal only got one point at home which is quite a bad result for them too.

Disappointed more than anything. Was hoping for a good start, something to take the pressure off, get some confidence in the team. This is the worst possible thing that could have happened. To be honest, more than anything, I'm just exhausted with the constant disappointment; no one to blame but myself for having hopes up, but another year ahead of us and I'm just not looking forward to it. We're not guaranteed a redemptive storyline, maybe the good guys won't win in the end. Maybe I spend my adult life watching my team unable to transcend everything. Maybe 2005 was the ultimate for me. The further in the rear view success fades, the less I remember it. I mostly remember days like this. Tired of it now, but I can't help myself from hoping. It's literally all I have left. Exhausted.

I agree he lacks composure, and has at times for us needed lots of chances to score, but saying he cant score goals is so far wide of the mark.

That might not be a bad shout, they didn't really interchange an awful lot from the stream I was watching from it was hard to tell.

Well I sure hope we at least try Borini down the middle. To be honest I thought thats where we were planning to play him. Suarez would be good on the right (playing quite close to him) and if I'm honest Downing offers nothing. Try that new boy on the left.

                          I hope to see this.

                          Assiati - Borini - Suarez.

See how it goes for a match at least. (Hearts?)

                            what is worrying about that?

what do you expect him to say to the press?

It's going to be a long season, a season of transition. I feel the impatient amongst us are going to be really disappointed.

The main problem I think with playing Boroni through the middle is that he doesn't seem as physical as Suarez. At least not yet anyway! Suarez pushes defenders, get his body in and forces them into mistakes which allows our midfield to push on and the ball not come straight back 9/10.
